As of Dec 2nd Lake Margarethe still had open water. Im not sure about any smaller inland lakes that is the one I saw on my way back home.

There is some ice on Margareth,but not safe yet.I spear on Margareth every year,with good success.I took somewhere around 35 northerns between tip-ups and spearing last year.Biggest on spear was 38.5" 13.5lbs.You will also see ALOT of walleyes and you will do very well on them first ice,for a couple of weeks ,then they are very tough to hook.
What do you meen by you need a place to go?Do you want to know where you should set up or what?
