Called the bait shop up there, said the lake has 4-6 inches. I'm going up there tomorrow morning to go ice fishing. Will report on ice conditions, and fishing.

Not ice fishing but a short story to share. I have a largemouth hanging on my wall that came from St. Helen. 8#. We used to camp on the last on pool of the lake. Down where it used to be private property owned by a hunt club(?) (Charleton Heston?). That was my first BIG fish and it started me fishing again. I always fished but nothing serious. After that one I have been doing it ever since. I don't get there anymore but I do have a mount on the wall and a picture of me with a washboard stomach and a full head of brown hair. That was over 30 years ago but I remember that day like it was yesterday....

went out on sat. at the public access. ther were a few people there but no one did any good. i made three moves, out further and more in front of the caters cove beach, i usually do good there in the late summer early fall, but still no good. I was going to go in front of the canal yesturday but it was slushy as hell and it was way tooo easy to bore a hole in. I was alone and noone else was on the lake so i went back home..... was going to go out today but with 45 mph winds, i'm keeping my ass at home!!!!!!!!! I should be going tomarrow, will post after!!!!!!!!!
