I was eager to use my new GPS nav. So I took a drive from Toledo up to Oakland county to check the ice. Here is my report to ease your mind of the ice conditions in se Mich.

Dundee-private ponds frozen. But little to no ice elsewhere

Ann arbor- 50 acre and smaller lakes are frozen. NOT SAFE! 1"

Whitmore lake- WIDE open. No coves frozen.
Brighton- Chilson pond frozen but very dangerous 1" +/-

Oakland county- all lakes 100 acres or less 90-100% frozen. Larger lakes 20-50% frozen

Will do the same trek next Monday after this cold snap! Won't be long now. Just a little patience and we will be filling some freezers.

Did you happen to check Long lake, middle straights, or any of the other smaller shallower lakes here in Oakland co? I drive by Middle straights on both the east and west sides of the lake and it looked locked up last night and this morning- minus the usual river flow locations that stay open all year. Just wondering-I plan on doing some scouting with the spud this weekend myself but any advanced info is welcomed.

Yes I did Ryan.....back in where you and I fished 2 years ago. I went back there and caught a few perch (not like b4) but did well on gills.
Water was so low last time I went up there that I didnt even fish there but fished at the access and caught 2 little perch is all.
Im looking to buy a shanty and with gas being down, looking to sprawl out this year. Wamplers has always been good to me so I'll keep posting.
