These would be used on a rather shallow river so flat bottom boats would be a big plus. Leaky boats ok because they would mainly be used by kids during the summer months and they likely will be playing grab **** and splashing water around anyways.
If you have a neighbor with a rowboat they never use, consider telling them about this thread.
Thanks,

L & O,

I've got an old Alumacraft canoe that I think I bought from you several years ago. A light weight hull with old plastic seats. The rear seat has been replaced with lawn chair webbing. The front seat is ready to be replaced. "Bill's Pride" is stenciled on the sides of the boat in faded black paint. The hull has some aluminum patches welded on it. Sound familiar? It's a nice boat, paddles well with a good glide, and is light enough that I can load it on a roof rack easily. If you're interested, I'll sell it for $225.

I've got another canoe that I'd consider selling. This is a 17 foot canoe, broader, deeper, heavier and flatter bottomed than the Alumacraft. I've had it for about 40 years. I can't find a manufacturer's name plate on it. The hull is sound and the keel is straight. A little bit of water weeps into the hull where the keel meets the plate that sweeps up to form the stern of the canoe. That stern plate has a dent in it. The gunnels are bent and the sides and bottom are dented. It's not pretty but it floats and will carry more weight and volume than the Alumacraft will. If you're interested, I'd sell this one for $150.

I'm about an hour from you in northern Washtenaw county.

Lindsey,
Hi. Yes I sold you Bill's Pride a few years ago. In hindsight, I wish I had kept it.
My preference is for old rowboats so I will keep checking Craig's List. I am hopeful that something will show up on that source or this site before June.
Anyone with an older kayak ? I would be interested in that as well.

Reply sent. Because the boat will be used on a shallow stream, it pretty much needs to be a flat bottom. Any usable flat bottom is fine.
