When: Saturday, January 31, 2008 from 10 am to 2 pm. No Early Birds Please!

Where: Homefront Church, just off 196 near the Rivertown Crossings Mall at 6265 8th Ave SW Grandville, MI 49418

We're back!

The Saturday before Superbowl XLII is the date for this years swap meet so mark your calendars.

We are having a swap meet for anyone that would like to sell, swap, and buy excess fishing gear on Saturday, January 31, 2008 from 10 am to 2 pm. We are thinking that the theme be related to items for fishing but also are considering that it be open to sporting goods in general. No flea market crap, just good used gear that one no longer needs or use.

Sellers contact me prior to the event to reserve a table. Donation will be $10 per vendor. Sellers are welcome to share or split tables. If there are left over tables we will offer them up for donation only basis for those who would like to sell, and cannot reserve, afford, or do not need a full table.

Set up will happen between 9 and 10am. If I could get a few volunteers to show up early to move some tables and chairs. We will need to move some chairs first, set up the tables, then set up our items. Volunteers please contact me, and will get to pick the best locations. We will need a crew available at the end to put the tables away and put the chairs back as we found them. Many hands will make this an easy job.

Buyers can stop by from 10-2pm. This will be a free event for buyers, donations gladly accepted. Bring cash and change if possible to make it easier on the sellers who will have limited abilities to make change throughout the day.

We have decided to do a 50/50 raffle for the Youth Ministry and they will be on hand to sell coffee and snacks too. Please support them with their fund raiser. We are looking for donations for door prizes, and raffle prizes as well.

Location has been set at Homefront Church, just off 196 near the Rivertown Crossings Mall. The address is 6265 8th Ave SW Grandville, MI 49418. We will have full run of the place with plenty of tables, chairs, and room to spread out in this facility. Here is a google map to the location, please DO NOT call the facility directly since this is a private event, contact myself with any questions or issues.

http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=&daddr=6265+8th+Ave+SW+Grandville,+ MI+49418&oi=manybox&ct=10&cd=1&resnum=1 (http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=&daddr=6265+8th+Ave+SW+Grandville,+MI+49418&oi=manybox&ct=10&cd=1&resnum=1)

There is shopping and plenty of great restaurants nearby, so bring the family out for a day of fun, fishing, and good friends.

Lastly, please let me know who can make it so we can have enough tables available, and have an idea on how many buyers to expect. My e-mail address is stein_mi@yahoo.com (http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/stein_mi@yahoo.com)

Hope to see you there!

Tim

Same place Mac.

So far 10 vendors with over a month to go. Looks like it will be another great turnout. Last year we had 200+ people turn out and over 20 vendors, so there is still plenty of time to go through your gear and reserve a spot.

Remember, Saturday before the Superbowl. Be there!

Actually it's new line... may have been fished a couple times but not much. Came off my jig rod after I bought a high speed retrieve reel for it... and I've only been throwing the jig for about 1.5 seasons...

So, not too much hot dog greeeeeze on it... probably more pike slime than dog greeze!

I just registered the 13th vendor, with 3 weeks to go! Usually we get around 20 vendors and well over 200 visitors so don't be shy and come on out! It's all for a good cause and some great deals mostly on new and used big lake tackle.

I have a Strike master power auger with a 10 inch auger. I would like to swap it for an 8 inch auger as 10 is a bit big for my tip-ups. If someone posts here or PM's me I'll bring it and see about making a trade. I better add I just want to trade the auger not the motor...

Sweet, got you both for 20 vendors again this year, you guys are great.

We'll have over 30 tables full of fishing equipment and tackle. Bob's Outdoors, Fishdog, Capt Willis from Limit Out Sports, and another local tackle companies will be selling so come on out folks! There will be some deals to be had for sure. This is THE place to stock up for the season at a fraction of the cost of new gear.

We'll also be selling coffee, water, snacks, as a fund raiser for the church ministries. We'll bring in some hot pizzas as well at 12 and 1pm.

This is a free event for buyers, but please tip the hired help, and donate if you appreciate this event and got some deals. That way we'll be sure to be back next year too. Last year we had enough vendors to cover the hall reservation and donations to fund the youth group activities for the first half of 2008, and that's something!

Thank you all for your support!

Sorry no room left for vendors, and NO sharing tables!

We'll squeeze you in and people are welcome to split tables or even bring in their own card tables too if they don't have enough to fill a 12' round table or banquet table.

Many of our top buyers are our sellers myself included, I know a good deal when I see one.

Bring me a couple of those micro okuma 1 lb perch roddies at $10 a combo for a good bro.;)

No chili dogs this year either, we're bringing in hot pizza at 12 and 1. :corkysm55

50/50 raffle drawing at 2.

Hello! I'm new here and also new to big lake fishing. I was given a cannon speed and temp (sensor only) as a gift from the always thoughtful in-laws . I knew immediately that I would need the screen, but I'm hoping that someone might have one that they've either lost the sensor to go along with it or bought a boat that had the display screen on it. Hopefully someone will have one at the swap meet!

Hi Tommy, you might try a WTB thread in the buy/sell forums.

If not Fishdog, a sponsor of this site could probably order just a display for you.

This Saturday is the swap, counted tables and have about 5 left in case anyone missed out and still wants to join the fun.
