jackson co. off of i-94 grass lk exit or mt hope -forgot -anyhow i believe report lk is shallow ! dont fish it much as south entrance- co park- is a long walk to north side of lk structure and east- west side

I have been fishing Grass for just about 2 weeks now, it is the first to freeze, first to thaw, and last place to catch fish. Conditions have to be just right to fish it but you can get on it now. I drove past Gillets lake yesterday and walked out from the boat launch to about the middle of the launch cove area and spudded 3 times and did not bust threw.

I am in Pinckney and most lakes around here have little or no ice. Just wondering what it is about Grass Lake that makes it freeze so much earlier?

very shallow lk - i went there tonight just at dark and walked out and got atleast 3" im sure its 4 out further .
