I went ice fishing today on a couple of small lakes in the Hiawatha National Forest. The fishing was very slow, but the weather wasn't too cold. The snowfall & lack of cold weather isn't allowing very much ice to be made. I should have had a buddy along; being first ice & cell phones don't work in the forest. This is the earliest (11/30/08) that I've been on U.P. ice. Be safe & good ice fishing to all. Jeff
