Any of you guys hunt on the Kalamazoo River? What all ducks have you guys ran into? We have seen Mallards, Woodducks, Mergansers, Bufflehead, Canvasbacks, Black Ducks, and Teal where we are going to build our 3 or four blinds. Not to mention, we have also seen geese, and Bald Eagles, and tons of Turkeys. One thing we haven't seen much of is hunters, we have only encountered 2 men in the 10-15 times we have been down here. We also find mushrooms down here. Zak

Hunted the river near Allegan twice last year. Didn't run into to many ducks but, many hunters. What part of the river did you hunt?

If you want to float hunt, then there is alot of room to go. If you want to make a blind, you have to make sure you have permission from the landowner, or that it is state land. You don't want to get in trouble with the DNR. As long as you have a decent place to get your boat in, then you will be all set. You might also want a pair of waders too. I fell in the river in the late goose season this year, and it's mighty cold. Zak
