Cover your body with acorns and sit very still! :lol:

Just go out and " Act like a nut ! " :lol::lol::lol:

Seriously though , pretend your deer hunting.
Sit still and quiet and listen for them. You'll know what to do from there.

Are you having problems locating them or just getting close enough for a shot?

Location location location..

find where they eat, and sit still.. I usually sit for 30-45 min and move on if I'm not seeing anything..

I try not to walk right into their area, sit along the edge, you will hear/see them, then stalk them, or shoot them with a 22...

if you can find a good tree that is producing nuts, sit 30-50 yards away.

good luck, let us know how it turns out....I love pictures of dead squirrels

As others have said it is all location and food is the key. Acorns, beechnuts, hickory nuts, any kind of nut is a draw as are apples and corn. It doesn't get much better in December to sit in a hardwoods at the edge of a cornfield.

Get a squirrel call and then listen to how squirrels "talk" to each other and then immitate the sounds you hear. One common mistake with calling is overcalling. You'll get the "feel" of what's right by listening to squirrels as I said.

Just pretend your going to deer hunt. Cause when i'm deer hunting i see dozens of them. That the truth too:D. One more thing your have to be very-very-patience too that mean siting still for hours!!! I love squirrel hunting just as much as Deer!:evilsmile

I was talking to some old timers the other day. They were telling me that when they went out squirrel hunting they use to bring a hammer and pound on the tress with the nest in them. They said the vibration would bring them out of the nest. I was wondering if any one has ever heard of this or were they just busting my chops.

While not using a hammer I have taken a stout stick and pounded on trees as well as run a long stick up and down the side of the tree with no results..........unless "nothing" is counted as a result......:lol:

I usaly sit in my bunker style deer blind for an afternoon sipping coffee and reading a book, I average 3-4/hr.

I shoot a gamo shadow 1000 pellet rifle, open sights.

Did I mention im sitting under a beach tree thats centered in a 1.5 acre stand of oaks.
