View Full Version : Rumor: 2009 ban for muzzleloaders in shotgun zone

I "heard" from a friend that his uncle had seen something in this regard from the DNR. It does not make sense to me, but the DNR has a reputation to uphold. I do not see an outright ban on muzzleloaders occuring anywhere, but the DNR may attempt to put some limitations on them now that they can shoot 300 yards. Has anyone heard on this type of ban for next year?

I doubt it. If they banned them would that eliminate the muzzle loader season too?

Right guy with the right muzzle loader could easily take deer at 300 yards.......................though it's not me.:)

It wouldnt eliminate the muzzleloader season there is cap lock and flinters :D i love my 54 cal tc white mtn during the muzzy season sure puts it to em just not at 300 yds

I've seen plenty of shots made at paper plates at 300 yards with muzzleloaders...

Ive seen a guy make several consecutive shots in a small target at 180 yrds with a compound bow. Maybe we should outlaw Compounds during archery season:dizzy:
