Squirrels During Deer Season

I searched here and DNR sight and can't find a NO answer...Is it legal to hunt squirrels during 11/15 - 30 firearm deer season using a shotgun or .22? Blaze orange and no treestand stuff....The hunting guide doesn't show squirrels and rabbits as being closed during this period. I'm done hunting deer this year and wanted to pop some private land bushies over Thanksgiving holiday.

Squirrels are open. Yes, as always, wear orange. No .22 allowed in the woods during this time, except I believe trappers can carry a .22 handgun when attending their traps. Shotgun is ok.

You are correct Kydia. Squirrel hunting is legally open during firearm deer season! That includes .22cal rimfire.

During the Nov 10th-14th time period A resident who holds a fur harvester license may carry a .22 caliber or smaller rimfire firearm while hunting furbearers or checking a trap line during the open season for hunting furbearers or trapping furbearing (including racoon) animals.

Perhaps people are getting confused about:
It is legal to hunt deer in the rifle zone with any caliber of firearm except a .22 caliber or smaller rimfire (rifle or handgun).

Coyote Hunting Seasons: Statewide Jul. 15 - Apr. 15 (closed in Zones 1 & 2 during Nov. 15-30)

Ruffed Grouse season is also closed during firearm deer season!!
Season Dates:
Statewide: Sept.15 - Nov.14 and Dec.1 - Jan.1

I noticed in the handbook that the season didn't close, but wasn't real sure about the .22 aspect. You know, not being able to find something that says you can't doesn't mean that you can.....
