What do you think the best public waterfowl hunting area is in Michigan?

For geese I would have to say Baraga Plains, If you can hit the flights.

Nothing, I mean nothing can compare to the Shiawasee Flats when the flights are in and the weather is good(SNow, wind and cold cold cold!)
This area is not for everyone though! It takes a dedicated(Crazy) type of sportsperson to hunt there!

I know this is not what you are looking for, but I would have to say Saginaw Bay. I say this because it offers the hunter an endless opportunity to try a different styles of hunting. Not to mention the thousands of birds you will see almost every trip out. However, the shooting is not always the best and it gets rather expensive replacing 1-2 props a year. The guy I hunt with kindly named his boat "prop buster" for that reason.

I havent found it yet.
But Munuscong bay and south to DeTour Village was about as good as i"ve found so far.
