Just curious....a bit of an informal poll....what type of watercraft and motors does everyone out there use for their waterfowling? I have two boats: a 13 ft Meyers V-hull with a 9.9 Evenrude (circa 1970's) and a 16 ft Alumacraft Johnboat with a 1993 15 hp Sears (Force)outboard. The Meyers is basically my puddler rig, while the Johnboat is starting to be primarily my diver rig. I used to use a 15ft Coleman Ram-X canoe with a 35 lb thrust trolling motor and paddles, but that thing was tippier than a drunk in an earthquake! We did go swimming a couple of times, and unruley dogs were a pain. Still, I think a canoe does have its place in waterfowling....ponds off the beaten path, ect. I think if I were ever to get another canoe, I would get something like a Raddisson, with a wider beam and square back, unlilke typical canoes. So how about it...whats everybody bobbing around in out there?
Well Mainly on my boots, or over the top of them any way, :)No I don't hunt from a boat I'm a field hunter, But there is a spot that I have been thinking about draging my canoe back to 1/2 mile drag, 1 mile paddle to get to the geese,, I think I'll stick to the fields :) :)

Got a 16 ft Jonboat as well, can't remember the name but it is a plain Jane boat. It cam with a 15hp motor on it. I also use it during the warmer weather as a fishing boat so it can be used year round with no problems. I have been thinking about getting a lite 2 person boat that can be ported to a couple of inland lakes since a lot of lakes do not even have a boat launch.

I have a 16' Jon boat with a built in blind covered with FastGrass. 1962 28 hp Evinrude motor that starts on the second pull EVERY time.
I also have a 16' canoe with a square back. I have 2 different trolling motors I could use on it...28lb thrust or the big 3 hp from my Jon boat. I current;y have a young lab that will not see the inside of that canoe if she doesn't calm down.....I'm with you 16 gauge, canoes and labs don't seem to mix.

Looks like I run with the battleship of this group.
I have a 17 1/2 foot aluminum bass boat with a 60 Merc. I built a pvc frame that supports wetlands camo burlap, for less than $70. Although this blind worked ok last year, I will definitely rebuild it with much stiffer pvc this year.
This rig will do 35mph across large waters lake Mullet and Grand lakes, yet it can be poled along in the skinny water.
I will be working on a smaller water rig with my hunting partner this year.
