Pond behind my house froze up it was only 1 and a 1/4 inches but it held me 130lbs and my dog. It was only 2 feet deep so i took the chance.

IT COUNTS! Book it as first ice of the year. Now you just need to put some gills on the ice. Please be careful out there.

The deeper the lake the longer it will take to freeze. All the real shallow bodies of water will freeze first...deepest one's last.

I would have a rod if there were fish in that pond but it dries up in the sumer. Sorry about the date in the camara
its screwed up. I hate to say it but i think the duck hunters walked on ice before me this year.
