I messaged him back telling him I simply joined after seeing his site on another sportsmen forum and seeing somebody talk about the only jigs I use for ice fishing, I fully intended to be a good member sharing info and help others but this experience turned me off and I won't be back, I have better things to do than deal with an internet ego

None of the posts are even close to that form, you have one talking about how he liked the glow bug eye, another talking about how he likes the glow yellow tigers and another talking how how I like the glow shiner.

I noticed a member over there who is also over here kinda stuck up for us though giving his thoughts on the jigs and then saying "I hope I've been a member here long enough to have my opinion valid :rolleyes: "

BUT, their member asked a question. They answered with honest feedback from actual use of the product, just because a member has 1 post or 1,000 posts is irrelavent. There was nothing wrong with what they did, noone gains anything by way of money or free merchandise from what they posted. Fact is, Harry makes great jigs, and I let everyone I know exactly that.

Please don't tell me my intentions, nothing gets my goat more than somebody doing that. Fact is I heard about that site on this forum about a week ago, today somebody mentioned them asking about Harry's jigs over there so I figured I would join, give my thoughts and posts over there much like I do here. I in no way joined over there just to tell as many people as possible about Harry's jigs, truth be told since I know Harry fairly well I know he's not having problems with people buying his stuff :lol:

As far as you sticking up for us goes :dizzy: Sorry but when I read I've used them for several winters now. They are one of my "go to" lures for walleye, especially any of them that glow.

One lake that Dachmation and I fish on, I use a chartreuse Swedish pimple on one rod and one of the glow pattern ficious jigs on the other. I've given a couple to Dachmation but I can't remember if he uses them or not. I hope I've been a member on this site long enough to have my opinion considered valid.

Hey guys sorry you got the wrong opinion about IceShanty.com but you got involved with a guy (seadog1)that was posting several new product reports yesterday. He had a dialog with the admin and was so defensive that it was apparent he was paid to try to advertise on the site. Sorry you guys got involved with him. By the way I have used Ficious jigs too, on Houghton lake and Higgins.

Guys, lets be realistic, this is all about money. They have their "paid" sponsors and I'm sure they stick up for them. If I'm not mistaken, Harry's jig threads used to catch some crap from this website, until he became a sponsor. So it's not like that other website didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I'm sure if someone opened a thread about "Frabill" shanties, Clam would start complaining.
On another note, that website takes some getting used to, as far as negotiating around on it. I did find a section for the sponsors recognition. They seriously do some "brown nosing" with their sponsors.
Even though it's a "free" website, it does take money to run it. They have to survive on sponsors money, so I can see why they protect their sponsors. Not saying how they acted was excusable. Just saying I can understand where they're coming from. :hide:

Since you explain it that way, I guess I'm to blame for anyone from here getting into trouble over there. I should have read into seadog1's intentions and avoided posting anything here about it. It seemed to me that several people were trying to learn more about the product, and I didn't read between the lines as a sales pitch to push the product. I spend quite a bit of time on there reading tips/techniques from guys across the country and this is the first time I've seen anything like this happen.
