went out this afternoon and checked a few small ponds and lakes in the marquette area and was surprised to see ice!!! one of the lakes was almost completely covered with skim ice and with lows in the teens this week im hoping to be out on the ice this weekend fingers crossed...:D anyone else see some ice?

Oh ya, alot of the small ponds around here have the skim ice as well. This weekend seems a little iffy, but it'd be great if I could get out right after Thanksgiving. But I'm not keeping my hopes too high, as I don't want to be disappointed.

ya there is a decent sized pond/lake on the other side of m-24 across from nolan farm equipment and that is almost covered just a pocket or two.

went out and checked again this afternoon. walked out 15 feet and found 1.5" of ice! needless to say i turned right back around but im still pretty pumped. hopefully this snow doesnt mess up to the ice too much
