anybody interisted in just how big of portion of the state the South James Bay goose population flys over. looks to me about 10%,Thats right, thats why we had a 15 day season on Canada Geese if you go to www.cws-scf.ec.gc.ca/canbird/goose/goosmap.htm. (http://www.cws-scf.ec.gc.ca/canbird/goose/goosmap.htm.) this is the canadian wildlife service page, it will show you where the SJBP flyway starts and ends. Than go to USFWS 1999-2000 waterfowel regulations section you will see that every state that the SJBP flock flys into had there season adjusted where ever the SJBP was found, Looks like they were givin between 30 and 35 days to hunt geese(in the SJBP area) with 2 birds aday, Ohio had the shortest season in the SJBP area 30 days 1 bird a day. Michigan was the only state in the MVP flyway that could hunt Canada Geese only 15 days the other states were put into zones rangeing from 30 days(SJBP area)to about 97 days in the other zones in the same states. Check out the 2 sites I mentioned above and see for yourself, It could be the Duck Season next !!!Forgot the USFW site.

I just got into waterfowling a couple years ago. I think the short seasons are one of the reasons more people don't get into it.When you look at what the other states have it doesn't seem fair.
