The forecast looks great for ice. If they're not way off base with their predictions, very likely i will be setting tip ups out in November. Only second time (possibly) that I can remember fishable ice before December.:D:D:D:D:D

Up here in Lewiston, many of the lakes have skim ice on them not only, yesterday, but some retained for the entire day.....right now it's 20 out and making more ice.....E.Twin had a good 100 yards of ice!!!! I say in 10-14 days I'll be out on the ice!

I've only done it once, been out on Thanksgiving morning in Ludington. Would be nice to do it again this year.

Well, from the sounds of it I'll be usin' a spud this weekend. Seein' we left the dock in for duckin' up at the cabin. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Easy on the ice guys after Dec. 7th ya can have all of it ya want. But I sure would like water to go duckin' on til then. I do have to admit though this cold weather and snow has got me sneakin' peeks at my ice fishin' gear.

I saw skim ice on some ponds in canton today. If we can keep this weather around we will be on the ice very soon!

Smaller cannal here in oakland county had skim ice over half of it - (Wolverine lk). Forecasts look hopefull to be on the ice first weekend of December- time to start prayin to the ice gods:bowdown:. I dont wanna get the gear out quite yet. I'm affraid I'm going to jinx it :lol:.

I remember last year wolverine lake lots of ice last year around thanksgiving if im not mistaken i was fishing it the next week with a solid 4 inches of ice.

Still a month or so off around here in southern mi i hate to say. Dont be surprized if we are in shorts in few weeks lol ill stick by my end of dec prediction. Hopefully im wrong but this is michigan ;)

Well maybe earlier if the weather forcasters keep being wrong , first they say mid upper 40s next week. Now a couple days later it will barely get into the 30s lol I need a job like that where i can be wrong 80% of the time and still get paid lol

I have been eyeing a swamp pond that has crappie in it for 5 days now in Jackson county. gonna give it a spud wack or two today and see whats up. It has ben froze over for a good 4 days.

really? what lake? lemme know how thick the ice is on it when you check it.

just checked it 1+" all around it has a day or less and it will be ready. This is no lake it is a pond next to some protected wetland that for some reason has a lot of small crappie in it. My first ice lake looks as if it gots about a week or less weather depending. That small lake next to little wolf in jackson county and in chelsea the marl pits are always ready early. Looks like I will be checking daily now.
