I am in the process of making some new slammers for this season. The ones that I use now I made back in 1972, and they have served me well.
The reels that are on my current slammers were made by the Best Tackle Company in Northport Michigan. I installed them on the slammers back in 1982
I have looked and done multiple searches for these reels, but have had no luck.
The reels resemble the Schooley reels, but are 4" in diameter. I like them better than the Schooley reels, as they will free wheel when you loosen the drag, where on the Schooley, you have to pull the line off of the reel to get to your desired depth.
If anyone knows of these reels and where I could get 10 of a dozen, please post of pm me.
