Canada Geese

How many Goose hunters do we have out there.Seems like every one's hunting ducks theses days(can't blame you with the goose season we've been handed the last couple of years) Anybody setting mainly for geese??

I used to mainly goose hunt, but now, I've really got into Duck hunting. We shot about half a dozen geese last year, and about a dozen ducks. Zak

I love hunting both ducks and Geese! With the way that the water situation has been lately I'll be doing more goose hunting this year.

I mostly hunts ducks but I am starting to get into goose hunting. Went out a few times last year with no results. Due to the way the seasons are, I ususally see flocks of geese while duck hunting and none while goose hunting. Any good ideas oon where to go goose hunting (public land)?

The only thing that I could do when I hunted the Todd Farm was to make heavy, fast loads that were duplexed. I would load #1's under BBB, so that I could kill geese at 50 yards +. All there is out to the Todd Farm is skyblasters, and crippled ducks and geese. It's really a waste of my time going there anymore. Good Luck, Zak

I went to the Todd Farm twice, once on the weekend and once because I got drawn when they used to have the reserved hunt. The only way I'll ever go back is if they do the reserved hunt again. Don't like standing out in the steel rain. Chad.

ypsiDave, About the only thing you can do on puplic land in hunt the water, unless you have the decoys its going to be mainly a jump shooting thing for you. Up here we do kill a few on water but mainly hunt the grain fields morning or evening, are the best,

Zak, Ever try the wonderful 10ga ? I can tell you that 50 yds is not a problem with a load of T's with it., most of our birds are killed in the decoys but with the seasons being the way they are latley, we'er pounding the same flocks day after day They do wise up quick, this is where the 10 ga shines, Good hunting Yoda

I chase geese every day during the early season but when duck season starts, geese become bonus birds.
