Take a look at the Lund 1660 with a side console. It is a 16.5' deep-v with an 82" beam, rod locker, livewell, and decent storage for its size. It came with a trailer, 50hp Mercury, fishfinder (replaced right away) and a bow mounted trolling motor and two batteries. I got it in 05 for about 13G out the door.
I have to watch the weather and pick my days on the big lake but it works great for me - though I do find myself wishing I had something bigger (18' - 20'). I was going to sell it this fally and get something bigger but with the economy the way it is I had to cancel that idea.

The new In-Fisherman has an add for a brand new Lund 1625 Rebel XL SS for $12,995. It includes a 50 hp 2 stroke Merc, Lowrance X-50ds fish finder, Motor Guide bow mounted trolling motor and a ShoreLand'r bunk trailer with swing tongue. Seems like a good deal to me.

Shop around!! Most aluminum boat companies make a boat just like what you are looking for.
Tracker
Lund
Smoker Craft
Sea Nymph
Crestliner
G-3
Lowe
If you are not in a hurry wait till the fishing shows start after the first of the year and you can comparison shop them all under one roof!! The Novi and Grand Rapids shows are very good for this type of boat as they are very popular in Michigan.

Don't rule out the tiller models so fast. If your fishing by yourself I find it's a lot easier to steer and fight a fish from the back. Expessially if you plan on doing any trolling. I had both and I really miss my tiller. I went from a 16'9" to a 23' for bigger water but I loved my tiller. I had a Princecraft, if nothing else check them out, there are a really well made boat. Good luck

Well, he did say "no tiller stuff" so there you go.
Bigshot, are you looking for a NEW boat or a used boat? I do get customers in now and then who are trying to sell their boats.

look at used boats. in that price range you might be surprised what a sweet boat you can find. remember its a buyers market in used boats.

I still can't get over how perfect my 1st boat was/is for me. 16' StarCraft. Not quite a total fishing machine (no live well or rod lockers) but for the price I paid and all I got with it, what a deal.

I found a 1650 lund angler 2001 with a four stroke 40 h.p. console used only a handful of times for $6500 this summer. Couldn't believe how new it looked when I saw it. When I bought it I thought the motor was a little undersized but it pushes me 28m.p.h with two guys in the boat. I use it for the big lake and of course my inland lake fishing. I really like the four stroke motor and the size of the boat for any type of fishing. Really nice thing is you can troll the big lake allday for 10-15 dollars.

I bought my 1660 Classic a couple of years ago and it has been great. I fish alot of inland lakes and Lake Michigan and Superior. It handles anything under 3' pretty good.
