I puchased a new ground blind yesterday big enough for me to bow hunt from, took it out today to set up and decided to stay and see what was moving. At about 6:30 I spotted a buck, and about 30 seconds later another from another direction. They began sparring about 90 yards away across the pond. I was watching through the bino's for about 15 minutes, they were pushing each other around pretty good, but still looked more playful than a full on fight. During this time I tried some grunting and got a little look from the pair, then I hit the bleat can and got a lot longer look from the pair, but they just went back to sparring. Also, during this time I realized I should also be paying attention to possible things within range. As I was lowering the bino's I had a deer coming right to me. I grabbed the bow as the deer entered a blind spot about 12 yards from the pop up I drew my bow and heard the deer stop and run back about 20 yards and start stomping and looking all around eventually walking off. Sorry for the rant but this was my first time bowunting from the ground and first time seeing bucks spar in the wild. What if any calling techniques while bucks are sparring?

What kind of blind did you purchase? I just purchased a primos vision a couple weeks ago.. set it up last weekend and it looks pretty good out there. Just sat in it for a second after setting it up. Wish I had your luck.

I got a eastman carbon venture magnum, very roomy and plenty of interior height. I picked it up at Sam's for $115, and would swear when I saw it the week before it was like $179. As far as luck is concerned, the area was scouted out and I have seen about 8 differnet bucks in this area, but as my luck would have it, never on the right trail:confused:. Of course the first two were during the early antlerless hunt, 3 while tracking the doe I arrowed in anohter spot, 1 neer last light when I was in my climber and the two fighting tonight. The one that came in was not identified as buck or doe, but was alone and big body. Good luck out there!!!
