Well, our 2008 Grouse Camp has come and gone. Scott, Glenn and I had been planning our annual trek for some time now and we even had a few other M-S'ers show up. The weather was fantastic for chasing birds and we stumbled upon some new productive covers. I'll spare many of the details, instead I will mention some of the highlights.
We met the evening of the 17th for some PBR's and Scott ended the night with a trip to the bakery for some muffin tops. I won't elaborate, but it was a great start to camp.
The next morning we hit the woods to burn the rust off and then met up for lunch before setting up camp....

Jeff a.k.a. Dogn4birdz started the morning with a nice brace of woodcock and a grouse...

The nights were filled with fine camp fare, a few pops and lots of laughter. Waking up to frost a couple of the mornings sure made it rough to start the day, but I honestly can't say I'd have it any other way.

We broke camp mid-week and hit the cabins after the temps dropped into the teens and we were in dire need of a shower. Mike invited us to the Shark Shack and we decided to take him up on it. We rounded out the week by meeting up with Joe (DrifterSaver) and having one hell of a day in the Neosporin cover.
I had an awesome time and really enjoyed the events and comraderie of the week. The birds were plentiful and so were the laughs. This, my friends, is what it is all about....
