Does anyone know the law on hunting on the edge of state land or a park land that is not marked. I have leased some land next to a park that is closed to hunting. There are no property boundery markers, no signs, no fences. Just the edge of the tree line. The park ranger cannot show me the exact line but say it is my responsibility to know the line and if they feel my stand is on the park land, I will be ticketed and arrested. Thanks for the input.

Does the owner of the property know where the line is? Has he had that line surveyed; that would take care of the problem. If noone knows I would stay well back from where the owner thinks the line is located. If the owner has a description of the property, which he should, check the length of the property at that point. Google Earth has a built in measuring device for any value you want to set it at. Zoom in on the property and measure across to that part of the property from a known point. That should give you a rough landmark to start from. I tried this at our camp on a known line and Google came almost to the money. More than close enough to work from it. Hope something here gives you an idea to work this out.

They cant ticket you because they THINK you are over the line. They have to KNOW you are over the line.
If they harass you again, tell them that they are over the line, and you will have them ticketed for trespassing. It works both ways.

if you leased the land go to the owner and get the deed and find your land marks if not on that, get the abstract it'll have everything you need. you may have to rent a metal detector for corner stakes/landmarks. as far as having a park ranger arrested for tresspass i would take a completely different path than that one. (you'll only get into a deep bind on that route) unless of course he's hunting on your land. hint: take digital pictures of corner stakes and gps them for a reference line and then hit goggle earth. good luck:coolgleam

Then you got lucky because not all properties are marked as well as you think.
