V's,

You can go to just about any marina after dark and walk the walls, and cast with sinking or countdown rapalas and catch walleye from now up until forming ice won't allow your bait to swim. I fish some private marinas in the GP's. last thursday, a buddy and I caught 9, from 3 to 10lbs....so it's time.

go get em

Joe, you guys got 9 last thursday? Went out Sunday and Monday nights at one of the GP parks. Had a perch rig with minnows thrown out, and walked the wall with countdowns and bombers. Caught 4 pretty big catfish and 1 sheephead on the perch rig, and only 1 pike on a countdown. My buddy was jigging a little bit too, and had what we thought was an 'eye up to the surface, but he lost it just before I got there with the net.

If you don't mind, where were you at? we were at the farms.

Flip,

I've caught walleye at the farms park. They're around. Get a variety of countdowns and switch patterns if you're not getting any. Also, wall walking can be very hit or miss. Wind and water clarity are important. I went again monday night and got 1. That's the beauty of it.... you can go for an hour and if it's slow, get in the car and go home. Just keep tryng and you will hit some good nights. The shores Park, GPYC can be good...I'd stick with the countdowns.

You can alter between standing in different spots and casting out or casting once and walking slowly, often very slowly, particlurly as it gets colder. Cast out once, a bit in the opposite direction you plan on walking, click the bail, and start walking, and repeat, simple as that... but walk slowly. change rapala patterns. A lot of times the eyes are hugging the seawall.. but not always, so mix it up.

Don't be surpised if a big toothy critter pays you a visit!

Joe, thanks for the response. Yeah i've always had good luck at the farms in years past, but never got more than 4 or 5 in a night. About the toothy critters - you are right on - i've gotten several nice ones up to 20 lbs. over the years by doing this.

Might have to try GPYC one of these nights but for some reason never had any luck there.

Good luck, maybe i'll see ya out some night.

Can anyone help a non-lakefront resident out in finding a park or marina that allows access for the fall shore fishin? I guess there is Metro and Harley, but I am wondering about other spots in the SCS or Pointes.

I know, not the best question to broadcast out there. Feel free to PM.
