Managed to jig up 5 nice wallzye's this morning over by Peche Is.. Missed quite a few more, and had a few short strikes. The Sheephead moved in as soon as Hotwired, Houghton Laker, And Mike the Elder rolled in:lol::lol:. Sorry guy's, I thought I had a good tip for ya...... Wrong species. I know why I like Wallzeye fishing better then Perch..... Less cleaning for a ton more meat:). RJT jigs lost ZERO fish......... run of the mill jigs lost at least 4. Fin-S Smelt worked the best. 3 fish went 23 inches, and the other two went 19 inches. Gotta go track my B.I.L.'s deer..... Later

Good job Matt! The Perch went pretty good early but then got a case of lip lock. Still did OK though. Thanks for that heads up too! ;)

Can't wait till I get my prop back on Mon. I gotta work on the idle too....throttel is to sloppy and it is hard to get just the right speed.:dizzy: Although I may be fishing too fast with the colder water. But I got 2 last time out going 1.8-2.0 mph.
What speed you guys fishin' at?
Good fishin' to all!

Sly - I've been fishing any were from 1.1 to 1.7, depending on what way your trolling.
Matt - I almost had a chance to get out there but work called and made me come in. Good job on the fish, those hooks sure are sticky!

Good job on the Perch John. Kinda sucks about the tourny after all the $$$$ and time you spent pre-fishing. I was thinking after I made the "report" to you that perhaps I should not have done it on 68. I'll call your cell phone next time. EIther that or come up with a Windtalker type code:lol:. The cow has left the barn, repeat, the cow has left the barn...... the rooster is pi$$ed, repeat, the rooster is pi$$ed:lol:. Good to see ya'll out there again.
B.T.W. No deer yet, and I'm sitting in an airport waiting for the call...... It's driving me nuts!

Never did alot of fall fishing. Do you guys change your leader length in the fall. I usually run 30' on the top and a 10' kicker. Sound right??;)

10 kicker is way to long at any time.
Most are using 30, 15, 5 ( I use a 3' kicker with a thin 6" snubber )
Move the leads up on the shank in the fall.

I don't know about that John.
That sunrise is nearing 8am now and when you're getting up at 3:30am that first one sure tastes good at 7:30.

Yeah, I hear you guys talking about how many fish you have as I'm heading out trying to wake up with a coffee in my hand. I must be getting old because I don't think I could do that anymore. Thank goodness Perch don't feed much till first light. :p

Why do you say that just because I'm in bed by 9-9:30pm....That's just so I can get up at the crack of 2:30am....have a coffee and make a few posts...Then go out and get my limit by 6:00am.....that way when you guys come out I've already moved over to a spot that has no fish and tell you I got them all right here!!:yikes::lol::lol::lol:

I don't know, if I'm in bed by 9:30, I'm still not up till 5:30 and I'm still a bit slow to get moving even at that point! If I get out there too early, all I catch is Rockbass!
