Went to North Channel, nothing, went to B buoy, nothing. My dad got tired of fishing with the pack. It's always funny to watch the boats stop and go. They show up like sea gulls. As soon as you anchor, your guaranteed to get 2 or 3 other desperate fishermen.:lol:

Anyway,we stopped on the way back to Fair Haven about a mile out from the New Baltimore tower and started hitting perch. Sure, most were small, but beats just drowning minnows. We kept 10 perch, biggest was 10", almost all were females with eggs.

Went a little more north and starting catching this silver colored, greenish racing stripe down each side bass? shad? fish. Ranged from about 3"- 8", caught about 8 of them. Then a good sized small mouth bass.

Hardly any wind so it was another nice day on the bay.

Thanks for the info, I was going to look up the "new to me" fish but forgot about it. From the picture and my memory I would say yes it was a white perch. Interesting. The bigger ones had a nice fight.

sounds like this is not a good fish to have in our lakes(white perch) maybe we should be killing these instaed of throwing them back like gobies? I seen a guy catch one walleye fishing in port huron and threw it back, could be part of the reason people arent catching as many game fish this year

When I read the note in Wikipedia it said that Indiana says to kill them. If I would have known.....:evilsmile

I wonder if there is any direction in our fishing guidelines?
