I plan on gong to Foote Dam the 1st or second weekend of November. Wouldn't mind catching some whitefish. What is the perferd "bait"? Are you bottom bouncing?

You'd be better off on the piers in Oscoda or the state dock in Tawas, they do get them in the river but not like the piers. Waxies, salmon eggs or minnows work well under a slip bobber

:yeahthat:.....the river is hit or miss, one year they're in there, the next year they're not.

I second that. The Tawas pier is a lot of fun to fish whitefish off of. I used a tiny jig with a wax worm under a slip bobber.
