i had a big one on a tipup years ago up north.... lost it at the hole after i saw the snout come up.... not that it matters because it wasn't fitting through the 8.25" hole anyways. fought like hell though... ended up breaking my hook. was about 5 minutes before the end of a fishing derby some friends of mine always put on. gave a lot of folks some excitement for an otherwise pretty slow day.

Not a monster, but bigger than 30" Neil..... look at the vid again, then measure your shoulder spread and see what you think.....

was over 30 for sure, but i doubt it was 53, i think 5lb test would have given out by the time he landed it, but its possible i guess, i use to watch a lady on fox sports net land 40" pike on 6lb
