Well after missing the Walters last night due to a small emergency(why did I EVER get married???) I made it out to the ditch near the 17/18 cans at about 8am.
What a beautiful morning!!! Made a couple moves and then I found them in 18' of water. One after the other..........for all of 10 mins or so then here comes the wind. It went from a pleasant chop to 5' rollers in about 10 min.!:yikes:
Still no problem. I don't mind fishing in the rollers, but when the anchor broke loose all #$& hit the fan. Got my line hooked on the rope for the mudder...broke it off! Good thing I have the reflexes of a Gazelle or I would have lost the mudder too!
No biggie I thought.I will just drag some harnesses for a while since I got a nice breeze!!!!
WRONG!!!! Just as I get my lines set I get this uncontrollable urge to visit shore,if you know what I mean.(I needed the blue plastic house!)
At that point I figured I am cursed and I am going to sell the boat!
Anyway,I did get get 7 of the nicest perch I got all year. All were 10" to 12".
And now that I am home,I am contemplating doing the walleye thing tonight even if it is a monsoon and with a bit of luck I will get hit by lightening and all this bull shoot will come to an end! JUST KIDDING,LORD!!!!!:help:
Any one going out tonight???:evilsmile

Sly, you know I'm still in the market for a boat.....I think I'll wait though, You never know, I may find one floating in the lake with a few burn marks and a over cooked hotdog in it, that I can always feed to the fish.:yikes::evilsmile:evilsmile I here there hitting on hotdogs.:lol:

Geez, when that gale came up this morning I was wondering if anyone was out on the lake :dizzy: We had branches coming down and our cooler went sailing across the backyard....YIKES.
Geez, and you just got them mama perchies goin' Well, its getting better and better out there as the water cools off! Don't give up hope.

Thanks "Laura the Wench"!!!!
And don't hold your breath for a deal on my boat fellas. I have,at times, considered selling that boat much over the last 25 years, but it is still here to provide me with unfathomable pleasure!!!:dizzy::cwm27:

Yup, my nice expensive anchor was no match for that squawl. I drifted for over an hour before I tried to anchor again!
