One of the unmentionable small streams up here by Alpena. It startled me when I was down at the river edge behind my aunt's house. I thought it was like an otter or something that jumped in the water since its rather shallow and I saw just the top of it. Well that was until I looked again and saw a fin. OMG it was huge. Around 18-24 inches long and it looked like it had colors like cheetah spots. Now from looking at the dnr site it almost looked like a brook trout or even a brown trout. This is a 'designated trout' stream but I had never seen a fish like that in person let alone in the water. I gotta tell you it was sooooooooo pretty.

Tiger trout maybe? They're a cross between a brook and a brown. They've got stripes like a tiger. Thus the name.

Could have just been a King, they look kinda cheetah like when they turn greenish, the stage before black, which is the stage before white!

There are lots of brown trout in that area. Did it happen to look like this (http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/rootbeerfizz/eastlake-brown-big.jpg)?
