Can anyone give me info on a sako riihimaki .222 remington (serial n:08529).Or tell me where to go for info.like year,value etc.... thanks (email thebrownsupnorth@coslink.net)

Primo, you might want to reconsider this rifle. Some of these were known to have softer metal in the barrels and were shot out within 200 rounds.

Sako is the name of the company that makes the rifle; Riihamaki is the name of the city that the rifle was made in. Does the rifle have a name or model number, such as "Forester" or "Finnbear", or "72"? If you can give me some more information, I will see what I can look up for you.

16,i just got off the phone with the father-in-law.the guns were bought as a pair in the mid fifties.There is no model name,no dates,just the info i gave. .222 remington is stamped on the top of where the reciever meets barrel.plus they both have detachable magazines, with .222 remington stamped on the magazine. thanks

Primo, I guess I should have understood the original post a little better. This rifle you are talking about was made for Savage Arms back in the 50's. A couple of years ago they were selling in the GUN LIST for around $600 in 98% + condition.
