I am beyond confused. I am hoping you fellas can help me. I live in Michigan where obtaining a CCW is very difficult (depends on whether sheriff likes you or not). Michigan and Florida are reciprocal states honoring each others ccw holders. Florida is a shall issue state and offers non- residents ccw permits. If I cannot obtain a CCW through Michigans stringent guidelines, but can obtain a Florida CCW (under shall issue), can I carry concealed in Michigan with Floridas permit?? I have been trying to figure this one out for a couple days, I do not want to call the Michigan State Police for I fear the officer I talk to will tell me not possible before that officer researches all the legal mumbo jumbo that I have been trying to sort through. I know that people in Colorado are obtaining Florida CCW permits so they can carry concealed in surrounding states, I am wondering if the same applies here in MI. All I want to do is protect my family and stay legal(should not be so hard). Long live the 2nd. Huntnut

I beleive that this legal loophole has been closed, but I am not certain. Seems that the media nazis got ahold of this information several years ago and there was such an outcry from the "public" (i.e. liberals that have more time to think than work) the state govt. repealed the reciprocity act. Don't know for sure, thoug...your best bet would be to consult an attorney that specializes in firearms law. Good luck!
