I talked to a guy that was there and I see this was in sound off (http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=255015)

Here's a video (http://www.woodtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=9131398&nav=0Rce) of digital pics too.

I would think you might see more of this with high fuel costs and marina gas being sooooooooo much more then road gas and people trying to save some cash by transporting portable fuel containers to re-fuel their boats.

The reason it is illegal to refuel at the dock is because "they" do not want fuel in the water. Not because it might ignite. This is an unfortunate accident that could of happened anywhere. I heard that he had a fuel transfer cart with a pump. It could have been static electricity that set it off. It could of happened to anyone of us putting fuel in our gas can for our lawn mower. Just one of those things that can happen, but you dont think it will. I looked at the damage and couldn't believe it. I herd that the guy refueling will make it, but was badly burned and will need skin grafts.

A frightening reminder to never have a open flame when refueling anything.
