After the birth of my first child Abigail (9 mos.)
a buddy of mine loaned me his digital camera for a couple of weeks. After we used it we had to get one for ourselves. The one we were using had 3 Megapixels, and the pics were clear and crisp. With my new camera which has even more resolution, my pics aren't coming out as crisp. I use the maximum size setting and the 2nd highest res setting. Could it be the printer?

OK your talking about the printed output and not the on-screen res.,when you displaying the pictures on your monitor, I assume. Have you contacted the pritner maufacturer or your manual (on-line printer manual?) of how to bump up your output res.? There are soooooo many printers out there that it would be hard to know exactly what the deal is.

I would be very interested in the answer as well.
The only thing I can think of, is the size. As it's reduced, 4 pixels may get condensed into 1.

I ran into the same problem with mine. Since I don't print my pictures, I started using 640x480, which is plenty for email viewing. Try the 1024x768 size. They may print up better.

Make sure you are printing in the "best" printing mode. My printer has 3 printing qualities. "draft" "normal" and "best". Also use the best photo paper. Will cost about 50 cents per sheet. 3 megapixels should make a great 8x10. On the best mode it will take about a minute or so to print a 8x10 any faster and your quality will be reduced.
