Thansk everyone

Ounces of oil per Gallon of gasoline
20:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 6 ounces of oil.
32:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 4 ounces of oil.
40:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 3 ounces of oil.
50:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 2.6 ounces of oil.
70:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 1.8 ounces of oil.
100:1(gasoline:oil) ratio requires 1.3 ounces of oil.

I've also got one those "Mix it right" beakers (Walmart, Murrays, Mower Shops) that has these calculations on it. The best $5.00 in non-hunting/fishing gear investment I've made in awhile! ;)

Yea I thought I had it on the back of the oil I was using (Amisol) but no go. I will just keep the printed ratios in my garage now and go from there.

Thanks guys.

Oh , it's fishin' gear alright - admission of guilt is half the problem!!

Funny... 50:1 seems to have several "accepted" mixtures. The mixing jugs we sell have it at 3.2 ounces per gallon (which is what I've been using for 30 years or so)... I usually just go with 3 ounces per gallon to be honest... unless I'm pumping 6 gallons then I'll just use 16 ounces. Never had an issue.

Someone post the MATH to figure it out... as math was never my strong suit.

Edit: I just pulled the mixing jug off the shelf... it doesn't actually say how many ounces.. it's just numbered by the gallon... "fill to this line for this many gallons" basically. Hmmmm....

Edit2: Back of the Penzoil gallon jug says 2.6 per gallon. Back of the Quicksilver gallon jug says 3.0 for 1 gallon.... 8 oz for 3 gallons... 16 oz for 6 gallons... and 26 for 10 gallons. I guess they are just rounding to make it easier for the average consumer?

1 gallon = 128 ounces
1 ounce oil / 50 ounces gas = X ounces of oil / 128 ounces of gas
X = (1x128)/50 = 2.56 ounces of oil per gallon of gas

50:1
1 gallon : 2.56 ounces
2 gallon : 5.1 ounces
3 gallon : 7.7 ounces
4 gallon : 10.2 ounces
5 gallon : 12.8 ounces
6 gallon : 15.4 ounces

3 ounces oil in 1 gallon is about a 43:1 mix.
