Johnson 50hp Start?

1972 50hp Johnson

I thought the battery was low because when I go to start it it turns over real slow, but then if I turn the key off and try again sometimes it starts turning fast (normal)

Other than that it starts fast with just a quick turn and runs great.

It's my first electric start outboard so I'm not sure where to start.... Hopefully the starter?

Id check all the electrical connections for corrosion, and tightness first.;)

Will do, I'm also charging the battery. It was only showing about 10 amps on the gauge.

I've doing a lot of short runs to she fishing spot so maybe Im using more juice than the alt is getting time to replace because I'm not running the motor long enough.

After charging if you still have the same problem check connections for good tight fit and clean too. good luck.
