Chuckie better be careful,, he's already at the Mendoza Line. They might have to rename that "Line"..:dizzy: Not many people in the league have more career strikeouts than hits..:( I don't care how good defensively he is or how many positions he can play,,,, he SUCKS at the plate..

Nope, not good at the plate. But, he doesn't "qualify" with only 344 AB's (as of now).
List of (active) players with more career K's than hits: Jim Thome, Richie Sexon and Adam Dunn (probably others, didn't want to go any further). And how's this one for a Hall-of-Famer (all time leader in K's): Reggie Jackson! (13 more K's than hits).

Point taken. Now,, who would you rather have any of those guys or Inge??

Brandon Inge is complete garbage and I have said it all along. I cannot believe they would ruin their fans off-season by announcing that he will be our 3B next season. I don't buy the argument that he makes up for it on the field, because his defense is overrated to say the least. That ought to help sell lots of 2009 season tickets. What's next, D-Train will be our ace???
In other news, I can't believe nobody is talking about today's big game....

Good point about the season tickets. It's not like they had a couple of "slow leaks",,, all four tires came off and both axles broke. They led the league in being shut out and the pitching was piss poor at best. If Leyland thinks having the same players at different positions is gonna change things,, he's sadly mistaken.

Putting a player that hit .204 as your everyday 3rd baseman is one reason Leyland should be canned!!!! I don't care how good his glove is.

Not really trying to sell a point, just mentioning that having more K's than hits is not all that uncommon. (and I'd still rather have Inge than Sexton!)

More proof that Inge is a complete idiot.....this is what he said in regards to the firings...
"We will miss both of them a lot," Inge said. "Today is one of the more frustrating days I've been a part of. Jeff Jones and Chuck Hernandez were two of the guys who helped me out all year and kept me sane.
"It drives me nuts that two guys who don't deserve to get fired did."

Hey Inge, check the stats of your pitching staff!! One would think the guy who catches most of the games would get a nice view of the pitching staff getting ROCKED day in/day out, but obviously this is not true. What a complete IDIOT....:lol::lol: Maybe he is right, HE should get FIRED for his pathetic performance on the field. This guy needs to shut his pie hole.

Keep im mind that he has been with these guys for years and grown up with them, and I'm sure that they are really nice in person so Inge is looking through rose colorglasses as far as friends losing there jobs and not looking at the real problem.

I am pretty sure Hernandez jumped on ship in 2006, which means Inge was only with him for 3 full seasons, and only a half of a season during which he was actually working with the pitching staff. I HIGHLY doubt that Inge and these guys were big buddies, hell when Inge was at 3B he probably didn't even talk to either of them. Maybe they helped Inge "stay sane" for this season, but Inge could have helped himself stay sane by showing up on the field and hitting the ball once and awhile. I will say it again, Brandon Inge is a pathetic loser, period.
