I have 20 acres that i hunt on and my cabin is located right smack in the middle of the 20 acres, for the past few years my stands havent been to far from my cabin. well this year i moved my stands about 50 yards from the property line which is farther from my cabin reason being is because there is alot more activity in these areas and i think it will give me a better chance at a mature buck/doe. just wondering what everyones opinion is on hunting near property lines? i tried staying away from it in previous years but considering my situation i have had a change of heart. As for the relationship with my neightbors well its ok we say hi every blue moon but considering im only up at my property a few times a year its hard to establish a relationship with them.

It's your land, hunt where you want. If you are on the line face in toward your land. Just be sure not to shoot anything across the line. Have a good time and don't sweat this type of stuff, it's not worth worrying about.

50 yards not a problem. The fact your thinking about it leads me to believe your neighbors shouldnt have a thing to worry about.

I had a similar situation on 30 acres I just sold last week. Sounds like the same type of relationship with my neighbor, too. My main concern was the increased likelyhood of a deer I shot not dropping until on his land. I approached him up front and we came up with a simple agreement. We were each allowed to track a deer on to each others' properties but if we were both up at the same time, not until after letting the other person know first. It worked out well.

You shouldn't have a problem if your neighbor is a level headed. On 20 acres a deer could run off your property quite easily no matter where you were hunting from. I got a neighbor who owns 60 acres and he has 13 blinds and stands right on the fence line we share. His reason is with a predominant west wind it is the best place to put them. So far no problems.

yea my stand is facing towards my property, i actually wanted to face towards the property line because i like to stand instead of sit sometimes and have the tree im on between me and the direction i like to shoot in but i didnt want my neighbors to think i was hunting there property or have any confusion so i faced in towards my property. i definately dont like having my camera that close to the property line though:sad:

I have always allowed anyone tracking a wounded whitetail to cross un to my land for retrieval. As long as they are indeed tracking a wounded deer:)

As far as shooting deer from the edge of their woods unto my lands edge, I have no problem whats so ever as long as that privlage is reciprocal and safty is always first.

I have an idea, hunt your neighbors and keep your land undisturbed. Trust me it works! Hahahah!

Just kidding, couldn't resist!

Have a good one!

50 yards seems far enough away to face any direction. but if your right on the line i would face in towards your land and not shoot anything across the line. but if you want to face backwords i would talk to the neighbor just to clear anything up. good communication is definetly helpful between neighbors

If your neighbors are true sportsman, they will allow you to track any animal that has been hit. I think your doing the right thing
