Well, if you haven't heard this year we are running a sub contest between the Michigan and Ohio Sportsman websites.

This contest will be hosted be hosted between the two sites with mirror threads running on each. ie-Michigan will have a submission thread for their deer, Ohio will have one for their deer.


As for the actual scoring the following will apply:
-Each representative may enter 1 buck (no antlerless deer will be accepted for the state vs state contest)
-The deer may be taken with any legal weapon during any season during the 2008 calendar year
-The deer may be culled for a larger one :help: :eek: :gaga:
-Points will be awarded by weapon + tines longer than 1". The weapon points will act as the 'base' points awarded depending upon what the hunter used to take their deer as follows: Gun or Crossbow=3 points / Compound Bow=4 points / Traditional Bow=5 points
-The photo of the deer will have to be submitted in the state vs state contest photo submission thread by January 3rd, 2008

Seems like this contest won't be very fair. Seeing that there are only 2 or 3 guys from Ohio on this site if this continues to happen that number might get lower.

This is a story from an Ohio 911 operator.

A couple of Ohio hunters are out in the woods when suddenly one of them falls to the ground. He does not seem to be breathing,with eyes rolled backed in his head.

I mean think about it, its the same reason many of us wish thats how it was is Michigan-you are either going to nail that first spike that walks by or going to hunt hard to get that big brute roaming the woods. As every team (assuming a little here) was smart about picking their rep, then they most likely chose one who is out for more than just meat. So my guess is that even if there was not a cull rule the results would ultimately be the same.

You can see all but one point, which is a split tine coming off of the left brow tine... I think you can see that tine in the other side pic sticking out below the main beam...

As far as the tag goes... it is there, all you need to do is zoom in on it... it is a 1/4" steel tag on the left main beam, you can see part of it setting on top of the bucks head.... sorry I didn't highlight it for you... I guess you'd rather just jump to conlcusions than try to actually find something out on your own...

Hopefully you all can stop whining now.... geez

Haha Its ok Hiller, they are just mad because it takes 3 of their 8 pts to equal the score of your deer. Unfortunately an 80 inch michigan 8pt gets scored the same as an 140 inch ohio 8 pt. I guess thats our way of giving michigan a little slack. Its kinda like giving the window licker on the bus a window seat instead of an isle seat. You know you shouldnt, but it just makes you feel better that you did because now hes happy since his face is squished agaisnt the window and hes happy. Makes ya feel like ya did a good deed for someone less "Skilled." Hey what ever makes the window lickers happy, Wait I mean michigan! hahaha


By the way, I think you guys might wanna re-tally the scores. Over the weekend ohio dropped some hogs! I know of 3 off the top of my head. Face it michigan, all you guys are good for is holding the camera and taking pictures for us ohio boys while we smile and hold a set of 140 inch antlers, something you guys apparently dont let happen. Is it a rule in michigan to kill every buck before they reach the age of 3.5???

I admit, I have shot one under 3.5........But I was 12 when I did it!!!!!! I learned from my mistakes at a young age!;)
