Has anyone been on Muskegon lake lately? I am headed over there tomorrow morning to give it a try. I hope to find some walleye if not should be able to get the pike going I figure.
I will report back if any luck on saturday morning..

I fished saturday morning in the wind and rain hoping to find a walleye or two, but had no luck. I did however manage to catch about 20 northern pike. I kept 3 fish that were all about 6-8 pounds and caught a lot of other fish in the 20-22 inch range. I hit a spot trolling with rapalas and had two on at once so I made another pass through there and caught another so I decided to anchor and cast for them. I anchored and caught a lot of them just casting a lead head with a twister tail and bringing it up the drop off, broke a lot of fish off with the 8# mono.
I hope to try again next weekend for the walleye at night as long as we aren't having a lot of rain like friday night. The water temp has dropped inot the low 50's so the fishing should really start to go now.

Good Fishing

Thanks for the update. I had planned to go Sat nite but I got a resp infection and am shut down for a few days. I had heard the pike were going good. Sounds like fun the way you were catching them and glad you got a few. Let me know if you ever want any company out there. I'm having a hard time getting anyone to come along. Tim

Stein and tk, I am from Muskeon but have not fished in some time... If you need someone to go along with you walleye and/or pike fishing, let me know. I am hoping to meet more people from the fishing side of the MS forums.
