I am looking to purchase a used snowmobile and are wondering the difference in some of the engines. I would be strictly using it for icefishing and some lake riding. I have two models that i can purchase for the same price...2000 ski-doo touring e 380 or a 1999 ski-doo Formula 3 6oo...both have 150 miles...the 380 is fan cooled...the 600 is liquid cooled...both spotless...any advice on which is the better engine for longjevitty????...the 380 is also a 2 seater

Laker,
Both are nice sleds. Rotax makes are very reliable engine wether it is liquid cooled or fan cooled.
What do you intend on doing the most? Lake Riding or Ice Fishing?
Liquid cooled sleds are nice because you can run them in warmer temps without worrying too much about overheating. Just make sure your getting enough lube (snow) hitting the heat exchangers.
You should exercise some caution with Fan Cooled sleds on warmer days. They tend to run a bit warmer than liquids.
I would say go with the Formula III.

i would go for the water cooled ski doo. water is always better than fan cooled.
