It was a slow weekend for me. Saturday in lenawee county I saw only a couple button bucks, then in gladwin I saw a couple does on sunday. I had a doe do some estrous bleats while in the food plot, it was the first time I ever heard that so it was pretty cool. But I knew if that didn't bring the bucks running than nothing would. Good news is I got this guy on trail cam, I believe he is a 3.5 YO.

now that there is URO sightings in my neck of the woods I will be out today through thursday then again saturday and sunday... cant hunt friday because i have to work some high school playoff game!!

that will be the day The URO runs by my stand just like this morning:(

no i didnt score but that buck my dad saw under my stand.... HE WAS UNDER MY STAND AGAIN TONIGHT!!!!! and i never made it to my stand in time... i watched him and 3 other bucks mill around by my stand tonight..... he is a nice buck... probably 125-130s.... either way i am taking him... nice 8 point... looks like he is 3.5 maybe a real mature 2.5... but im guessing 3.5..... ill post pictures of him tomorrow with me holding on to him:).... hopefully....

could have used a bit more luck tonight but hopefully things pan out for tomorrow....

Jason.... i talked to my dad he didnt seem like he liked the idea of me going through that woods but he will get over it..... at least i hope... he never said i couldnt :D

so ill be sitting there tomorrow night unless they are there again before i get there!!!

saw 14 deer tonight.... 3 bucks... the rest does and button bucks....could have shot the smallest buck.... and that was it... i think i saw the big boy but he used his 6th sense i know he has to go around me :( and then a smaller 8 point did the same.... or i guess maybe they were just trailing the hot doe that went that way :lol::(

going to try the same stand tomorrow night.... hope it works this time!!!

jason what did you end up seeing? since you went MIA.... you fall or get a deer?

I saw a button buck, a Doe, and 2 spikes... I'm trying the same stand again tomm night. If it fails I have a top secret location that I can hunt on the weekends, Only problem is there is only 2 weekends till all hell breaks loose... You'll get him Hawk, your in his house now, you just need him to walk into the game room and ya got him.

Did not get out at all last weekend, did see a few does the weekend before but not close enough to get them.

I will head out Friday after work and sit all weekend. Looks like it is going to be a GREAT weekend to be out!

yeah if i can get to that stand again without busting out deer it should be another good night... when they come from the woods to feed in the cornfield they always come right by my stand... its great... now only if i can get the big boys to do it instead of the little bucks and does.
either way its nice to finally see some deer eh:)

dang gone it!!!

saw 2 real nice bucks tonight.... the big one and then another newbie... that wants to be just like the big one!!! they came in within 40 yards or so but it was pretty dark.... sat there for 20 mins after dark waiting for my dad to drive back to get me because i couldnt get down... they just stayed there!!!

wish they would have came in a bit earlier....

my dad nailed a nice 2 1/2 year old tonight with an 18 and some inch outside and 16 3/4 in inside spread... his widest buck to date so he is getting it mounted... ill try and post pics tomorrow at work... im beat...we thought he gut shot it but turned out he got the heart and liver.... AFTER shooting through a branch..... i was pumped for him!!!
he got it with a RECURVE too!!!

and dont worry it wasnt on our property that im hunting:)

understandable though.... i hope i can get him but we will see... he is one of the smarter deer i have chased around... ill try to post pics here in a bit on the work computer:yikes:

Wish i could go out tonight but i have to work :(.. they have done the same thing the last 2 nights in a row... i cant think that tonight would be any different but looks like im going to have to wait until saturday night....bummer

saturday am ill be out at the lease land... my stand is always good during the rut!

well this weekend wasnt to nice.... didnt see much.... tonight was an ok night though.. saw 9 does and 2 bucks... and 2 deer came out as it was getting dark so i couldnt put the binocs on them... just saw they had big bodies

the 2 bucks i did see were a 4 point and then a buck that has 3 or 4 on one side and not sure what it has on the other side but it goes straight up like it was wounded last year and has a messed up rack... kinda cool though.... hope he doesnt come close to me... im getting desperate:)

It was a great weekend for deer movement, just couldn't connect. Saturday morning me and a lease partner where hunting about 90 yards apart when a nice 100"+ 8 point came right between us pushing around a button buck, we both grunted at him but he went my buddies way. Unfortunately he didn't seal the deal, but thats how it goes sometimes. In the evening, I saw a decent 2.5 YO 9 point running with some does, didn't really seem to be chasing though. 5 of the does he was running with passed directly under my stand, but he didn't follow. Good thing, because if I had saw this buck on trail cam I would say he needed one more year, but I had an awfully itchy release finger that night. Overall I saw 38 deer this weekend, about twice what I've seen all season sp far :lol:. Bucks are getting antsy, but does aren't ready yet.

Another Terrible weekend Here.... I swear The neighbors are messing with me. I am seeing very little buck activity. I have never hunted this hard and seen almost zero bucks. It's looking like come Nov 15th I'll be taking my bow out instead of my Omega

I saw the biggest buck i have ever seen in michigan... but it was on my way to work and the doe wouldnt lead him in front of my car... would have put us near the top... he had points everywhere... and was real symmetrical... bet he would score in the 150s at least.... what a hog!!!

i saw 3 bucks chasing or looking for does in crazy places this morning on the way to work so hot weather or not the rut is on folks... get out there and hunt!!! im going hunting after work then to vote....

i work for my supervisor tomorrow so i get out at 315 that will help me out a lot!!! getting out at 4 sucks!!!

I am seeing a lot of points going up the last few days, and none for us. We need someone to break this slump, I know everyone is trying.

With this warm weather I'm staying off the property this week. Cooler and rain for next weekend, they should be moving. Maybe take a day off or two next week, then 2 days off for firearm.

Tell me about it. everyday I see points for other teams.:mad: Deal is, we are still in it. 2 Nice bucks from our team and we will be in the thick of it.. I'll be hunting every single day till I get a buck. I rotate stands and properties so I dont overhunt an area.

It was pretty slow for me, did see one shooter doggin' a doe at about 200 yards. Pulled my cam card, and have ALOT of young bucks and a couple decent ones. I will try to post some pics tomorrow if I remember to bring my card to work. I signed up for gun and bow, and will be hunting friday-monday. Still alot of season left.

Hunted alot this weekend. Finally last night I seen a real nice 6, he has Awesome Potential and I hope he makes it.

Well I went to pull my blind yesterday will be leaving Wed to head up north for a week...(HOPEFULLY HAVE BETTER LUCK UP THERE)
I counted 7 YES 7 New tree stands up, they were not there 3 days ago. One was less then 20 yards from my blind, there is NO WAY that he did not see my blind. Thank goodess I will be heading North for Gun Season. Then hunting in Ithaca for late bow.

passed a small 4 or 6 or whatever the heck it was... only 20 yards and was broadside but just looked like a spike with 1 in stickers all over it... weird little rack.... im going back to grannys in the morning... been seeing quiet a few little bucks over there... hopefully a big guy will stop by for a visit... tomorrow is my last full day to hunt.. ill be in a tree in the am and then mid day maybe walking corn then back in the stand!

ok i just checked the weather... not going to be much wind... if there is no wind i will not be walking corn fields... looks like a beauty day tomorrow... i have high hopes!

Hey everyone, dropped the bird hunting to deer hunt the past week and the bucks are all over--I love when they are chasing!:p
I am giving it one more try this evening and maybe in the morning then its gun to fill my tag.

Good Luck to everyone for the opener of gun. I am going to a friends in the thumb, wished to fill my second tag with a decent buck with the bow but just seeing small ones in my spot, it will be nice to have a change of scenery, although I dont mind watching the smaller guys chase the girls around.

Ic..My dad and brother will be at just outside of Brown City at our farm..We used to have a farm over in Snover and Dad is from Marlette..THough now I spend most of my time hunting up in Huron(Bad Axe) and parts of Tuscola/Sanilac near Cass City...Good luck to you!!

I was up there this past weekend and bucks were chasing like crazy and running around in middle of the day! Screwed up on a great 10 point that I didnt know was 30 yards from me in the grass :(

haha koz im not done hunting for the year... i never see much during or after gun season but this year i wont even notice because i didnt see anything before :lol: so i will still be out there freezing my... ya knows... off

im going out tonight to try to get a turkey and if a deer comes by AWESOME... tomorrow im going to check my trail cam i put out at my grannys over a scrape and maybe hunt there opening day of gun depending on what i see... and i will obviously hunt there friday night also because the cam is back my stand... will keep yall updated also...

I sucketh..........

Saw nothing all day Sat until just after 5, or so I thought. Saw this Monster walk onto the end of my field. I would say easily 200 - 250 yrds out. Scoped him and saw horns, BIG horns. He was almost broadside to me and I go to squeeze trigger, whats happening, oh squeeze handle also. Just then my phone starts vibrating in my pocket, well hang on honey. I shoot and he jumps and I call hubby back. "I just shot and bring the flashlight." I notice its 5:20. So I go off in search of the blood trail. By the time he gets there, Im on the trail. We follow it for about 150 yrs or so and then lose it. So I tell him to go back to camp and get help, mainly my cousin Chris. Chris, another cousins BF, and and Uncle come out. Uncle more grouching then helping as it went into neighbors property. We have an open agreement with them for tracking purposes so we go in. We find spots about the size of softballs with bright red blood, but then drips. We found about a dozen of those softball size ones but then we were getting in to deep brush and it was fully dark. After an hour we had to call it. Man talk about a long walk back for me. On my mind allllll night. Wake up next morning, snow cover. Not much but enough to cover the trail. Crap. Ok but we left my coat where I had lost the blood trail so we went to get that and went down towards where we were last night. Found the hood of my coat which I had not known I had lost. Still after another hour n half, no deer and no blood trail to use due to snow. So, hmph. Another long trek uphill. We go out again after lunch. I ditched my boots for my tennis shoes thinking it will be easier on my legs and the snow has melted off. So we get just to where the blood trail turned south and whoosh. Down comes a HUGE snowstorm. Within a minute I was a walking snowman.

So I am NOT a happy camper in the slightest. Its now a tossup on whether I hit him hard enough to kill him after he lay for a while or if I just hit him enough for the blood to leave the spots from him stopping for a bit.

So back up next weekend for us for now.

I put a decent 5 point down opening morning. Long story short, he came running in with a smaller buck, I miss took him for a 2.5 8pt we have around and I was a little trigger happy. I'll still be out tomorrow looking for bigger but will post pictures when I get home.

i went duck hunting with my dad tonight in one of my uncles fields and there was a little bit of standing corn so i snuck through that to go kick up some ducks since they werent flying over us and sure as **** i snuck up on a freaking 8 point!!!! within 5 yards of him!!!!! and saw another bigger buck out about 100 yards.... i would love to walk that corn field with my bow... we shot the shotguns a few times at ducks and he stayed right in the cornfield.... he is only a 1.5 year old but its not my hunting property and im desperate:lol:

I hear that! I was having a terrible season...I need to re-wash my clothes or something. Cass probably sat in my stands before I did which is why all the deer won't come out.

hehe yea i keep my cloths all in my bag during time out and I still had no problem seeing deer this year thus far..just no shooters..:( Never been winded once also, and some days I was sure I would be..But hey what do I keep telling you guys...Im bad luck for other teams if I walk around or see their land..Just a thing I like to call a bad luck charm :D

Hubby and I and my oh so bad knee and cane went out this morning on one of his handyman clients houses. Hubby has become fairly good friends with him. We went out Thrus night but he had shot at that doe off the hill and missed so we gave them a couple of days to settle down. On the way up here we heard a large sounding pack of yotes.
About 720 heard rustling close. I said if a squirrel joins us in the blind there is gonna be a prob. Hubby finally saw does across the gulley. He got the gun but I couldn't see them due to 2 panes of plexiglass in the way. They ahve pieces of plexiglass in channels and then dont always all move out of the way. But the doe moved out of range. So bout 10 min later, more rustling but not as much. I look over to left and there stands a deer 'maybe' 50 ft from the blind munching on some new shoot tree buds. Get gun, but plexi is in way. I reach up to try and quietly move over, THUNK. I think Oh Crap. Deer just looks at me. Umm ok. So by this time hubby had turned around and said he has horns. Heck I hadn't gotten that far up yet. I saw dinner in front of me and we have a doe and buck license. Squeeze a shot off and bam. Down he went but got back up but very very wobbly. Watching him go down off the hill we were both on, and then up the next little one and flop over. Thats as far as he went, like 100 ft if that. Kinda shot the top part of the heart off. Hubby tried to move him a little by grabbing horns, yeah no go. He had to get the rope. He had a belly with a good amount of someones corn in him.
He is currently at processor's for pickup on Tues.

Hubby is going to still try for a doe for extra meat and to share with friend but at least pressure off and I feel 'slightly' redeemed.

congrats wyldkat!!! I hunted a few times this weekend... ended up seeing 20 some deer one morning but only one was a buck and it was a spike so i watched him walk...

then i got a call from my uncle today that said your buck is dead :( the big one i was chasing met his maker today... he was 19 and 3/4 in wide or something like that with nice tall tines.... i thought it was wider when i saw it but if its the same one im guessing not... we dont get too many big bucks in the area so im guessing it was the big one i saw.... i went over and took some pictures of it... ill post em tomorrow

im still looking for a buck.... just not sure where to look any more :(

The pictures dont do this deer justice at all :( he was huge!!! it was already hung up before i got there though... it was missed at least 3 times during bow season.... my cousin first... then me... then whoever put that mark on the side of him far back... deer must have been quartering too or from and the arrow went in and out within inches of each other.... so i wasnt the only one he made nervous...

The guy that got it has AMAZING land... and practices QDM... he put in tons of food plots and manages land like no other... when no one sees deer in our area his land is packed....
he took the deer at 30 yards... said he wished he had his bow...

anyone else been out? I went out tonight and saw 4 does and a bambi... of course the bambi was the one who came the closest... and i let her pass... had the camera out with me and it was soooo cold the battery died before the deer came in :lol: oh well

i know there is still a buck out there somewhere... i have a ton of time off between now and the end of the year so if im not ice fishing every day ill be hunting....
