I think some of the slower minded members on here are having trouble understanding the difference between Knockers and Nockers:dizzy: Not too surpised though, some of the spelling on here is atrocious. Some guys can't even spell weiner!!!

Well, with all this rain i dont imagine many of you are out hangin stands! I was gonna get out and hang another stand today, but its a wash! Finally seen a nice buckon the cam this week and plan on gettin out to check it tomorrow.

Here's a few pics of my bow, it's not as new or high tech as the ones I've seen from you guys, but it should get the job done.
It's a Mighty Mite from Bowtech. 29" draw at 70lbs.
It has a Hostage rest on it and a RT900 for a sight. I shoot RedHead carbon arrows and I just picked up some 100gr. RazorBak 4 blade Broadheads.

I like it a lot better then my QAD fallaway rest, it seems to work real well. Haven't used a Biscut before so I can't really compare the two, but I saw a video on how the Hostage is supposed to be quiter, faster, and easier on the vanes, so I deceided to give it a shot.

I just got the RazorBaks in the mail yesterday so I haven't had a chance to use them. They're a newer product from NAP and seem pretty cool. The broadhead spins on the screw part that is inserted into the arrow, they give you a special key to put them on. They say it's supposed to allow the broadhead to keep spinning after impact.

Good deal! One of my other buddies has a wisker bisket. he bought the new axis fletching pattern last year that staggar. It ripped off every one of them in the first shoot!:confused::rant:

Yeah, when I was reading the reviews on the Biz. a lot of people said they had that problem.

Alot of people are going to the drop away rests. Especialy the ripcord. I still use my trusty bodoodle!

I know a lot of people who love their drop-aways, I'm not a big fan because it's too easy for the arrow to fall off. But I guess they work pretty good

Went out today and hung a new ladder stand in a spot weve been thinking about hunting.. Figured it would at least keep other hunters away from the spot, no matter how much I decide to hunt it. Plus its a good spot to put buddies taggin along! Swapped the memory card on the camera thats been there since thur. afternoon. Didnt expect much with all this rain.

Got this guy and threar end of which is probably that 8 since hes the only pics ive got comin from that direction.

I started shooting the Hostage Pro this year and so far it has been shooting while. Looking forward to get my new arrows in the mail early in the week. Should be heading up to my property to check out my trail camera tomarrow, so I hope I have a few decent pics.

Went up today to check my trail camera and was not very happy with the pics. My dad set up the camera and the sun made most of the pic not turn out. Posted one of the pic, which I think is a decent buck but it is hard to tell from the quality of the pic. Let me know what you guys thinks. Also posted some pics of my food plots that are coming up nice.

If i shoot a doe it will be with my bow. Never really go through more then 3 deer in a year so I never get extra doe tags. ill shoot one during gun if i dont have anything in the freezer yet, but i know that'll never happen!:evil:

I have an TC Encore with a Magnaported 300 mag barrel. I will be taking my deer with a Elite Synergy Bow though. So hopefully I will be done before all the gun hunters get going. Good luck to those going this weekend.

I did the same damn thing, except I'm in zone 065:rant:. I feel pretty dumb right now. The DMUs North and East of mine are open, but I got hosed. I'm gonna have to go pop some squirrels to release this tension :nono:

Got out last night (Fri.) didn't see any does just a couple of 1.5 yr old bucks. This morning I sat over a water hole and had a doe with two fawns and a 6 pointer come in for a drink. The doe never gave me a good shot opportnity. The 6 pt and the fawns were giving me plenty of shooting opportunities which I took advantage of with the video camera. Not sure if I would've killed the doe since it had 2 fawns with her. How do you guy feel about killing a doe that has fawns? I must be getting soft in my old age but I had an experience a couple years back where I killed a doe with a fawn and the thing wouldn't leave. It stood there and watched me field dress his mom and was bleating like crazy. It bothered me more than I would like to admit. If it came down to meat in the freezer or no meat I would do it.... but later in the fall. I would have a hard time right now. Hopefully i'll get one to come in alone so I don't have to think about it. How do you guys feel about this early doe season? I was liking it before I heard all the gunshots last night and this morning. I'm wondering what this will do to the mature bucks....definately get'em out of their summer feeding patterns in a hurry. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't see any shooters in the early season. I just expected more people would shoot them with bows.

Well I headed up to my spot this weekend to pull cards on my trail camera. Well one of the camera's had a lot of fawns but nothing worth shooting. My second camera was missing. I fell prey to a low life theif. I would have loved to see what was on that camera, their was tracks all around it and a scrape.

I am still trying to figure out how they got it off the tree. I had a python cable on it and there was no marks on the tree from bolt cutters or a saw, almost looks like they had a key.

Good luck to all.....I won't be getting back out until the weekend. Sure is nice to have some cooler weather. Nice to not have to swat mosquitos all evening.

I got out today, in the stand at 4:30 PM
Had a doe with a baby come in at about 6:30, that little one was jumping around like a kid. Then at 7:00 a spike and 4 point came in. I was hoping for the big brother 8 point to follow them in, but that was it. A nice night except for the wind.

Got otu last night. Had a 5 pt come in at 30 yds but let him go. Then a nice doe came in with a little one. Ill be out all day sunday. Hope to see a good one!

Been out all weekend seen lots of bucks but only 2 shooters! the back thing is the one 10 point that i have been watching was at 25 yards but i had no shot due to some big branches!!! well there cut now:D

Well guys, no luck this weekend. I saw an 8 point 3 times but did not give me a high percentage shot. He stuck his head into my shooting lane at about 30 yards but that was the best oppertunity he presented. We saw a lot of deer but they were to far to shoot.

Next oppertunity will be 10/24 - 10/29.

Good job getting some points on the board. I hunted this weeked but it was slow. Only saw a doe and her 2 fawns. My brother in-law should have had his buck but when he woke up in his stand the buck was standing about 7 yards away from looking right at him. Told him thats why you don't sleep. Seem like my property is surronded by corn, i think the hunting will be alot better when it all comes down. Going to try and make it out later this week.

Only been out once since shooting the doe last Sunday. That was Tuesday evening and I spent more time swatting mosquitos than anything else. To add insult, my wife sent me a text message while I was in my stand that there is a buck and a couple does eating out of the apple trees in the backyard. Cooler weather starting Wednesday though!! I might try to see if I can handle the bugs tonight.

Buddy backed out on me last minute Saturday night!:rant: Went up to my other buddies inlaws 40 acres for the afternoon. Mosquitos were unreal. It was 81 degrees when we left for the woods and its a full moon too boot! So yeah! It sucked! Ive got most of the week free so Ill be out late week when it cools off!

My comp. won't start for some reason and I haven't had much free time at work so that's why I haven't been posting lately, not much to report anyway.

Went up to Alpena last weekend with a guy from work and hunted on his step-dad's 270 acres of private land, didn't see a thing besides tracks all weekend. We stopped by my property in West Branch so I could show him where I hunt and saw 7 deer within a few blocks of my land, going to try and head up there this weekend and hopefully take a doe at least.

Was in West Branch the weekend before but the g/f deceided she wanted to come at the last minute so I only went out twice for a total of around 7 hours. If I go this weekend I'm not leaving the woods unless it's for the four-wheeler to pull out a deer.

Saw a couple of decent bucks on Sat. night but they were across the field and had their mind occupied by a couple of does I was watching them chase around for a half hour. The does didn't look like they wanted anything to do with being caught. Was nice to see a little bit of ruttin action getting started. Also heard a few grunts from over there. Sunday morning I sat in perfect conditions until 10AM without seeing anything but birds and groundhogs.

I will be out hunting Saturday - Wednesday, Nov. 7 - 9 and Nov 12 -17. I am pretty sure I will get us some points by the close.

I schedule most of my time in the woods to be closer to that magical time, THE RUT. Nothing more exciting then seeing all the bucks out cruising for those Does.

Movement has been slow around me. It usually doesn't really heat up for me until the corn comes down which I hope is sooner rather than later. No close encounters with any shooters yet for me. yesterday was the only day i could get out. Man that was an experience in the tree. Thought my tree was gonna snap at any moment! Watched several tree get snapped like twigs!:yikes: Then I heard a huge tree fall in the distance followed by a doe running for her life right at me. Unfortunately that was the only deer i saw with 9 hours in the stand!:sad: ill be out this week as much as i can with these cold temps!

Jeff, great job on the doe! ill be hitting some private land to take a doe here soon. I havent seen a decent buck since the 2nd day of the season!:rant: nothin but does and small bucks! The big boys should come out to play soon!

Things are heating up. Moved my stand about 50 yds to account for the deer movement Ive been seeing. Saw 2 bucks last night. One 4 pt and a nice 6 that knew something was up. I drew on him coming out of the cover. I needed one more step and he got suspicious and backpeddled back into cover. i gave him a grubt or two and he stood there for a few stomping. he then blew and took off. The wind was swirling a bit as it was dying down and i think he got a little wiff. My scrapes are tore up big time and Ive got some nice new rubs since I moved the stand on sunday. ill be out tonight and hopefully things will go right this time! Game on!

Headed up to my property early Sat morning with my brother in-law. Had a spike come in about 8:30 then 6 other deer that I did not get a good look at do to the heavy cover. About 9:00 i heard some leaves moving around but could not locate were it was coming from. Then I look about 40 yards to my right and saw the top of a tree moving. My first tought was, 'stuiped squirels". Then I looked a little closer and could see some tines moving up and down. Then he stepped out and walked right towards me. He walked about 5 yards away from my stand which made a easy shot.

Haven't had much luck myself, had deer come in a few times but the closest they got was about 60 yards. I've got a new spot picked out that should get me on top of some action. I'll be heading up Wed. and staying through the weekend so hopefully I'll come back with something to show.

Nice Drake.....man we need them points. I'm trying hard to put some more up too. I was out all weekend. Passed on a couple 1.5 yr old bucks and saw one shooter Sat. night.
1st shooter i've had an encounter with all year and it sure gets the blood pumping!! It seems like its gonna break wide open pretty soon...gotta love it when the bucks get stupid and start thinking with the wrong brain. Warm weather this week isn't gonna help us though.

Great job Jeff. Hopefully i'll be able to add some points to the leaderboard before Saturday because i'm bow only. Last Thursday I gave a decent 8 pt a little haircut. Damn! Shot right over him and only took off a little hair. Better that hitting him hard and not finding him but still frustrating. I had an encounter with a nice 10 pt on Sat. night but he didn't offer me a quality shot. I've been getting out every day and the buck activity has been getting alot better for me. I'll be out every day through the weekend so i'm hoping to put some points on the board for sure. Gonna set up a decoy tonight and see if I can draw a shooter within bow range. Me too! Passed on a bunch of doe on Sat. Downpour all day long freezing my butt off. Only saw 1 buck which was Sunday morning and couldnt get a shot! My state land spot of 10 yrs was packed this weekend! Most people Ive ever seen! Plus they clear cut about 30% of the woods in the area making less spots for more hunters! My worst opener ever! I usually see 20+ deer opening weekend. I saw 8 deer! What a terrible weekend!

Well guys I just got back from my Bow/Gun week. I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I did get a Doe with a bow.

The bad news is I also shot an 8 point with a bow. The deer crossed into private property and the land owner would not grant me access to recover it.

I had no luck for the opener. Three days in Grayling with no hot water, broken pipe. I am glad to be home. Had lots of does moving around, but the only bucks I saw were on the cars I passed on the way home. I'm going out tomorrow after work. Good luck yall
