I'm looking to buy a portable fish/depth finder.

I've discovered model numbers 1200,2201, and 2255. Price range $130 to $280. I was looking for feedback on if the higher priced model is worth the extra cash. From all descriptions of each model I really can't see any difference except the 2255 has more pixels than the lower priced models. Is the extra $100 worth the better resolution screen? And finally is the 2201 worth the extra $50 over the 1200.

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

1fish,

In my opinion, screen resolution is everything. Go for the one with the most resolution that you can afford. After that, speed and water temp are nice features. Beyond that, other features are somewhat gimmicky, at least for smaller inland lakes and occasional bigger lake fishing.

I'm not familiar with the models you mentioned, but I go for the best resolution. I had a 240x240 Raytheon which I loved until I lost it overboard (long story).
