I fished C.S. Mott Reservoir this past weekend for about 4 hrs total on saturday and sunday and I caught 2 pike, a 26" skinny one and a 34" fat one, and also a 14" lmb that had SUPERB body condition. Lost one other nice pike. All were caught on the dam thing near the little fishing dock on a Silver Smithwick Rogue.

A retrieve that was changing directions from left to right with slight pauses seemed to be the ticket.

I neglected to mention I caught 2 smallies about 12" each and lost a NICE something (didn't see it) below the dam in the flint river.

Nice job on the pike! That is one of my favorite lakes to fish. In the spring we catch a lot of walleye, bass and pike when fishing spinner baits near cover in the shallows. The bass in my avatar pi came from Mott in the spring.
I actually had a huge pike attack a 10" bass that I had on. He had about 3/4 of the fish in his mouth and did not let go until right before we tried to net him. The bass was pretty tore up, and I ended up cathing the same bass again about 30 minutes later in a different spot.
Good luck out there!

I move back to flint the 28th of september (my 20th bday, I live inear romulus right now and work at the GM Powertrain Plant) and I plan on fishin mott again (a lot)...I'd pay for half the bait and gas if you took me out on your boat...Don't worry, I'm not a crazy flintoid who will stab you for 20 cents, I'm a college student at kettering (and when I introduce it, the president of the fishing club)...but yeah, hit me back up in a private message or notification or whatever y'all call it on this forum. beware, my tactics are different than you northerners, being from the west, but they work GREAT.
