Mio huh? You should see if you can get permission to hunt our old farm...it's in Fairview on N Weaver Rd. The biggest wild buck I've ever seen in my life was in our field there! Easily a 180's deer with double drops and split brows on each side. Let me know if you'd like more info...

Alright, Im back....

I went and checked a few of my spots today and a couple of the deer trails I am set up on are being used heavily. I hunt on about 160 acres of private farm land and there has been nice bucks taken each of the last few years. Unfortunately I didnt taken any of them as I was deployed to Iraq and had to miss most of the last two seasons. My brother shot a 9 point each of the last two seasons though (he is on team 13) and we have seen a couple more wallmounts so far this summer. I did get home in time last fall though to climb into a tree stand and miss a 10 point on my first night home. I was kinda bummed as it is the only deer I have ever missed but then again I couldnt have been happier either because I was home. Well, I promise I wont miss this year if I get the same opportunity. For a living I work as an independent Personal Financial Advisor out of Troy which allows me to be in a tree stand frequently which is great. My brother finished this contest last year in 2nd place and very close to 1st... we can not let team #13 beat us!

Have any of you come up with any team names yet?
What do you guys do for a living and what areas are you hunting in?
Are you bow, gun, or combo hunters? (I am bow only and I shoot a BassPro Toxik which is made by Bowtech)

I'm SLP, and combo hunter... I think everyone we have on the team has the ability to be in the early antlerless season! Alot of SLP and one guy in 452. I think we can pick up 5 points each easily next week!

Bow/muzzleloader/late doe - Northern Oakland County
Early doe/bow/late rifle - Near Mt. Pleasant
first few days of rifle - near Iron Mountain

Although my Mt. Pleasant spot has been the "work horse" for harvesting deer, I'm really looking forward to opening day in the UP. It should be a fun season.

Sorry, but I wont be able to add 5 points for the team next week. My brother and I decided a month ago that nobody will be hunting our property for the early doe season. We chose to leave it untouched until October 1st. Dont count me out though because I will be adding a doe to our team probably 3 weeks into October or so. We only hunt the bucks for the 1st few weeks.

Here are a few pictures from my property here in Paw Paw. I've got a 3 1/2 10 point that is a regular visitor. I had a bachelor group come through on 8/11 that had some hogs - I've attached those pics as well. I haven't seen them since, but hope that they will be back during season. My neighbors, except for one, are pretty good at letting the small bucks walk.

Do any of you know much about this Michigan/Ohio contest? From the sounds of it, we have to select one person from our team to be on the "Michigan" team to compete against the "Ohio" team?

The Michigan/Ohio contest is going to be made up of 25 hunters from each state. since we have 25 teams in Michigan we all have to select one hunter from each team to represent Michigan from how I understand it. I think we should pick the hunter that has the best chance at scoring big... from the looks of it SRCONNELL & CPA both have some solid bucks in their area so far...

In the Ohio contest they only have like 18 teams. So they will select one hunter from each team and then 7 more at large to make up there 25 hunter team.

Im not sure if this will show up or not... I did this in about 5 minutes at work today and am not close to being done with it. Im going to mess around with it a lot more tonight. My brother is going to help me with it too and he has done these before (if you go to team #13 Whitetail whisperers, you can see the one he did this year)

Also, this is the 1st pic I saw and am hoping to find a much better one... I might scrap this and start completely over...

The problem with it is that the image can only be 100 pixel tall... I think AT made it that way this year to cut down on the amount of bandwidth used. So if I shrink that pic to 100 pixel (which is about 1.5 inches) it will be really distorted... thats a sweet pic though

alright, Ive been playing with this for a bit and I figured out how to photoshop the pic so that it might work... I have to get back to being productive but I will play with the font and shadowing tonight and try to come up with something that looks nice.
