Well guys just wanted to check in. I have a couple nice bucks running around my area, hopefully they will offer me a shot. It is almost time.....

Ive had a trail cam out for about a week now in my local bow spot on state land. Have a couple pics of two 6 pts. I know of 2 good bucks I was unable to get a shot at last year that should still be around. I am heading out this afternoon to swap sd cards. I will post the pics here later today. Check out my gallery to see the first set of pics. I am hoping this baiting ban gets lifted to get them coming in closer.
Any ideas for team names?

Chance of me getting a doe is pretty close to 100%, a buck is probably about 50/50, but I'm giving it my best shot.
Any ideas for a team name yet? A couple starter ideas: "Backstrap Brigade" "Chasing Tail"

Chasing Tail is a classic and i'm sure its been done before. Great team name though!
Checked my trail cam on state land today. Got 3 different bucks in the last 4 days.

Both my suggestions were old favorites. If we are all bowhunters "Big Nockers" or "Penetration Posse" might work. For Call of The Wild fans, we could go with "Nugent's Natives."

 Big Nockers is great! You've got my vote!
I plan to open Archery with evening hunts on the 1st and 2nd, then go up for a salmon trip opening weekend. I will be in Livingston Co. bow hunting for about 90% of my time, going out after work through the week and mornings during the weekends.
Gun hunting in the Grayling area during the opener (4 day trip) then back down for the rest through ML.
I love Big Nockers!

Ill be hunting northern Oakland co. and a trip or two to the thumb and Clare for bow season. I will be in Minden City in the thumb for gun. I have a several places to fool around with this year.

Lets get 'er done Team 20! I don't care too much about our name. Rack Whackers?? 1st time for me in the contest. Will be hunting 90% of my time in NW corner of Livingston County. Got a couple shooters on my cameras. Been seeing a real nice 18-19" 11 pointer that has not yet showed up on camera. Seen him up close once. He's a dandy 10 with a split G2 on the left. Will also will have a weekend hunt with a buddy in SW MI, a weekend in the UP, and the last weekend in Oct. i'll be in Buffalo County, WI. Haven't read thru the rules yet but i'm assuming anything shot in WI would not count. I gotta do a little research and try to figure out how to post pics. Is this gonna be our location to communicate with pics, etc.? If someone could give me a cliff notes version of how to post pics i'd be happy to do so. Relatively new to this forum and a little green with computer stuff.

A WI deer wouldn't count towards this contest as you figured, but hopefully you won't need it, sounds like you have some awesome prospects!
This thread is just for our team to keep in touch with eachother and let the group know what's going on. There will be another thread once the season starts that is the offical scoring thread. That's where we have to post our pics in order to get points for them.
The easiest way to post a pic is to have an URL (an internet address) for that pic, websites like PhotoBucket allow you to do this for free if you sign up to be a member (also free). Then you simply click the mountain at the top of the text box when you posting a message and insert the URL.
If you don't want to go through all of this I can give you my e-mail and you can send me the pics. I'll put them into my PhotoBucket account and can give you a URL so you can post the pics whereever you want.

Figured since I had the time I'd use it to let you guys know a little bit about me and my plans this year.
My name is Josh and I live in Warren MI just about 9 Mile and Van Dyke with a couple buddies. I'm 25 years old and work for the Oakland County Drain Commissioner, but probably not for much longer hopefully as I just recieved my Associates in Criminal Justice and want to become a police officer.
This will be my fourth season out deer hunting, last year was my first year with an antlerless license and I used it take take my first deer, a doe. Last year was also my first year bowhunting, but I didn't spend a lot of time in the woods with a bow due to lack of confidence. This year I got a new bow and lots of practice so I'm feeling good about it and plan on hunting quite a bit this year with both bow and gun (signed up as a combo hunter).
Most of my hunting will be done in West Branch, in Ogemaw County. A couple of guys I went to school with also have property in Tuscola and I'll be spending a few weekends out there.

That's all eight of us then I think, didn't actually count. So it seems like Big Nockers is the winner for a team name unless someone who hasn't chimed in yet has a big problem with that. I'm liking the logo and the buck pics a lot.
Did anyone sign up to be bow or gun only or are we all combos?

mp76us, what happened to your post about being bow only?
No clue what happened....Me and computers don't get along the best. I'll get it figured out. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I am registered as bow only and hoping to get a decent buck and a doe plus pick up the bonus points. I do hunt all 3 (bow, shotgun, and muzzleloader) but the bow is my weapon of choice hands down. It really turns into a circus come 11/15 by my house...gotta get lucky to kill anything decent with a shotgun. Can only hope for someone to kick one your way. I'll try to figure out how to post some trailcam pics. Anybody got any hard horn pics? Mine have all still been velvet. Checked 2 cams Sunday and nothing out of velvet yet. But really nothing really good this time either. All year old basket racks. I'll be checking again this weekend.
Thanks stickem for steppin' up!!

Nice setup!!! I have never shot a Browning bow but I have heard their customer service is top notch. I shoot a 70# Mathews Switchback and love it. QAD Pro Series Drop Away, Maxima Hunters (350's), 2-Blade Rages, Tru-Glow Sight (5 pin converted by me to 3 pin), TruBall T-handle release.

I'm shooting a High country Ultra Light with easton axis and a 2 blade rage. Just trying the rages for the first time this year. Are they new this year or has anyone shot them before? I was wondering whether I made the right choice going with the 2 blade instead of the 3 blade. My buddy said on youtube there was a demonstration and the 3 had about 1" more penetration with the 3 blade in a block target.
