I was up at my property in the UP this weekend. Looks good.

Some of the runways look like cattle paths... Unfortunatley, lots of yote and wolf tracks too......

I was up in Alpena this past weekend a well. The deer herd in my area looks to be in pretty decent shape. One local up there told me that "there are bucks everywhere this year, and that the doe numbers seem to be pretty decent this year as well".

how do i get stuck with two of Team Vital on my team and not get the famous hunterhawk included! this is bull....:lol::lol::lol::lol:....talked to hawk last night and he should be hurting for season since hes off bear hunting in da UP and cant take time off from work since he took it off now:lol::lol:


was out at the least finishing plots this weekend and hanging stands..should have a doe down this first hunt..set some special stands just for does:evilsmile

Impray-Also live in lansing area and will be doing my hunting in Howell..and some around mason if my bud decides to be nice...Got some doe areas in GR and Lowell so might head that way also..should have a doe down by 8 on Thursday if I make it out, otherwhys friday night should be golden

I signed up as a combo gun and bow, so I am of no help.......:rolleyes:


The contest will be run according to all Michigan whitetail deer seasons during the 2008 calendar year (including youth, early, and late seasons). The picture of your deer must be submitted no later than midnight January 3rd, 2009

You are free to choose whichever you would like but whichever you choose you will be restricted to only submitting deer which you harvest with only that weapon. The one ‘curve’ to this is that bonus points will be added to teams at the beginning of the season for having members which choose either bow or gun only. Yes, as I thought - found this in the "Guidelines" for the contest.

I signed up "Combo", so no bonus points. Last year I signed up as bow, and ended up taking 3 deer with my muzzelloader, didn't want that to happen this year.:dizzy:

if you look around there are like 3 or 4 different banner styles that you can choose from..which ever one u like best use..they're all the same cept for colors

I did save the image to my desk top......its too small. So now when I try to copy the code I get the message "invalid file" or File Too Large. I must be a dumb ass...:lol: Help.

Will anyone else be trying to score some points for our team in the early antlerless season? Even though using a rifle is an option, I have decided to go with a bow so I can enter 7 points for our team. If I do take a doe with a rifle, I will make sure I have my bow and camera with me, and some catchup to spread on an old arrow,,, either way it will be worth 7 points! :lol:
If I let my daughter hunt with a rifle and she takes the deer would it be outside the Rompolian ethic code to say I shot it with my bow and take a picture? :lol:

Casscityalum, no luck with a doe this morning. I see that you didn't get one, but your buddy did get one from your stand. I know you were trying to film it, but thats why your buddy offered to film your hunt so his brother could get one from your stand. I think it was their property so I guess I would have had to do the same thing. Now lets stop helping out the other teams. :lol::lol:
