Hey guys! Glad to be part of the team.
Just here to check in real quick, be back later to give a little info on myself as I don't think I know any of you personally. When the rest of the team checks in, drop a line or two about who you are and where your hunting carrer has taken you so far. I'll be back shortly when I have a little more time.
Good luck to all!!

Hey guys. I plan on hunting around 3-5 days a week. I've got a farm to hunt in Ionia Co., my property and also my fathers property to hunt in Kent County and a few spots picked out in Oceana and Newaygo Counties. Been kind of a down year for me scouting wise. Haven't seen any monsters on my properties yet. I've got a lease in Missouri and a lease in Wisconsin that are looking great so it's hard to focus on Michigan. I have seen a nice 10pt 3.5 year old that may be the one I go after here in MI. I mainly hunt with a bow but I do pick up the muzzleloader for a few days every year. I'm leaving for bear camp tomorrow so I'll check in when I get back.
Let start tossing some team names around - any one have any ideas?

Hello guys! I'm a new member to the site but not to bow hunting. I hunt a very large farm in Newaygo county. In a normal year I hunt virtually every day of bow season. This year will be a little different for me because I am starting a class on the 13th of October to get my CDL-A license. That will cut into my time a little but I still spend more time than most in the woods. I just got approved for my doe permit today. Typically I wait to shoot my doe until the late archery season just so I can still be in the woods. This year I may fill it early though, because I may be gone by the first of December driving a big rig over the road if all goes well. All five of my stands are placed, I shoot my bow year round and I'm ready to go yesterday.:D Good luck to all!

Hello my name is Eric I am a bow hunter. I have 2 spots in davison 80 acres and 8 acres that buts up to Richfeild park 20 acers in Mt Morris 5 acers in Clio 80 acres in Mayville and last but not least 10 in Vasser. I have all spots scouted and I have lots of big bucks running around. I hunt every chance I get. I have November 8th-16th off and will be on stand all day on these dates. So I wish you all luck hunts safe and shoot stright.
Last year I made the team name buck busters. I dont care what they call us in the season as long as at the end they call us winners

I do usually a bow hunt or two per week in October, then step it up at the end of the month and early November. I'll be heading out to Montana during the prime week of Nov 1 to 7, but hopefully I'll have one on the ground by then. I take the week surrounding the gun opener off and go up to the U.P. to hunt. That trip is usually successful to at least some extent. Here is one that I'm hoping to get a crack at down here in Van Buren county in October. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc215/crousebow/Deerpix%20_08/DeerPlot9_7_08112.jpg
Possible team names: Buck-L-Heads, Rack Whackers, Widowmakers, Deer John, Tree Stand Junkies, Mossyhorns, Team Herd Control.
Anything we all have in common as far as hunting tools? I'm using a Bowtech bow this year with Rage broadheads. Probably gun hunting with an old Marlin 45-70 rifle.

Hi guys...checking in. You've pretty much got a rookie here. Just got into Deer hunting last year. Nothing with a bow and took 1 buck with a shotgun opening day of firearm season.
I hunt a farm in norther Macomb County, usually 3-4 days a week. I also have Nov 1 - Nov 9 and Nov 14- Nov 23 off for vacation (vacation = deer hunting). Really hoping to harvest a deer with my bow this year. There is an overabundance of does on the farm I hunt so normally I will be targeting does.
Anyone hunting the EAS Sept 18-22? I'll be out there a few days as long as its not too hot.
Looking forward to having some fun.

Hey sorry it took me a while. just got back from Alaska, home about a month early. I just got home from a little scouting, saw 2 120ish bucks in one of my feilds, so looks good on that end. Tokk a 10 and an 8 last year, hope to better that this year. I have mostly private stuff I ll be on, berry county, allegan, kalamazoo, van buran. BBD sounds good to me.

You may be a rookie but you certainly picked the right days to take off for your vacation. Pretty much the cream of the crop... Good luck.

I'm in New Baltimore...about as far east of Kalamazoo as you can get and still be in Michigan!

I'm fine with Team BBD. Does anyone else really like the way Tiffany says "YES"? It looks like we need to pick a team representative, who will then let the organizer guy know what our team name is. I'd have to nominate radiohead based on over 3500 posts. Does anyone want to volunteer to be the rep?
I'm from Berrien county, far southwest corner of the state. I have a 40 acre piece that I lease in Van Buren county to hunt, mainly bow. I also go up to the Allegan State Game area and do some hunting there. For gun hunting I mainly camp and hunt the UP for a week. I tend to not hunt too much after that, except for maybe some muzzle loading. I usually shoot several deer, but not too many big bucks. Maybe a little extra pressure to perform will get me out there a little more in the late season, although I hope to be tagged out by then!
Looking forward to a great upcoming season. Hope we all have a banner year.

I'll do it if nobody else wants it...since I'm the most inexperienced hunter in the group this will give more to contribute with!

Does anyone else really like the way Tiffany says "YES"?
No, it irritates me to no end for some reason. Thought I was the only one. I will have to say there is a circumstance I could envision where I would LOVE to hear her say "YES" and it has nothing to do with hunting. :D

Exactly where I was coming from on that one.
I've got an idea for a team banner. To do it I would need each of you to send me a picture of yourself with a deer you shot. We can see if turns out OK. Anyone else have an idea they want to try for a team banner?

I apologize for the crappy scanned, wrinkled pic. This is the buck that started my obsession with deer hunting. It's the first buck I killed by myself without my Dad, Grandpa, and uncles setting me up for a near slam dunk. This buck was shot on state land at 5:35pm November 29th of 1996. It is the luckiest deer I ever harvested and the last deer my gramps ever saw me take. For that reason I cary it in my pocket every hunt for a good luck charm.
If you need a better quality pic let me know, it's no problem.
